for the record only one of the coins I have posted to this thread was for sale. Let's keep the facts straight.

so, is it time to drop the whole subject or do you have to have the last word.............again

I for one have no coins for sale. I have not read or seen any other coins posted in this thread that are for sale in this thread. Up to now I really enjoyed this post trying to add to the spirit in which it was intended. That has now gone up in smoke. To bad I really liked seeing and sharing with others. I do not get much of a chance to show my coins other than this board. image

Edited to add that I'm from the northeast and a long long way from Texas

TBT...NOW there's a fine lookin' specimen of a toner I'd like to own. Too bad it's far beyond my monetary reach.image
What is money, in reality, but dirty pieces of paper and metal upon which privilege is stamped?

Thanks for admitting this JB. And I am not going to be the one with the last word, it will be someone telling you once again that posting coins for sale on this board is not permitted.

As to the rest of the comments here, if you guys like being drowned out by dealers that is your choice. We all know where we can go and drool over toned Morgans for sale. This isn't the place, and JB was told this by a moderator just a couple of months ago.

VAM 38 in NGC MS63, and no, it's not for sale. But then again, most everything is for sale if the price is right.

I personally like it in a thread such as this when the coin is available for sale. That way I can not only enjoy and appreciate the chance to look at it, I may also potentially be able to buy it! And face it, nearly everything is for sale for the right price anyway. No harm, no foul.

I really don't see anything wrong with anyone, dealer or otherwise, posting a pic of a coin that may be offered for sale through a different venue, as long as the post just shows a pic of the coin(s) and not a sales pitch or price lists or whatever.

I've always figured that nearly anytime a dealer posts a pic of a coin in this forum for whatever reason, that the coin was probably for sale or in his inventory at one time or another.

I want to go on record as saying that I like looking at pics of cool coins regardless of whoever posts them and whether or not they're for sale or part of someones collection.

Who really cares if the coins in this thread are for sale or not so long as they are not being marketed in the thread.

As for the topic of spamming, ya guys want to do it I don't care. Not worth going back and forth over it.

As for TBT comment on being a "Grumpy old man?" At least I've still got ALL the hair on my head. image

Eric's world of absolutes has just disintegrated before his very monitor!

Now let's see if he is big enough to admit it when he is wrong and apologize to everyone he has improperly scolded in this thread...(don't hold your breath).

I have no idea what you are referring to OLD MAN (since you want to call me JR). I bought the coin in the NGC holder from someone and sold it to you. That's all the provenance I need or care about.
