Mark said that the two IHCs would get a toe tag. Damn him and his mad skilz! image I'd be pissed if line #4 didn't pay for the two coins several times over. image

Here are the IHCs:

Off to NGC they go. image

Here is Line #4:

That one was pulled from a Wayte Raymond page containing a 1963 proof set and a 1964 proof set, picked off on eBay for $20. POP 33/0! image

The last one to sell on eBay went for $1025. I think that was a fluke, though. The average in my database is $778.

Is that your image of the page, Russ, or the sellers?

Because from that image you wouldn't have a clue that the coin was a Cam.

    Clank,

That's the seller's image, and from that image, Russ told me it was an AH, and a likely Cam while the auction was live. image

Yep, it's the seller's image. Marty even saw it as a likely cam. Have to give the Mad One props on that! I'd note, though, that I was only at about 70% certainty that it was an Accented Hair.

I must be nuts trying to collect this series. There must be a place in the world without internet that we can send Russ for a little "vacation". BTW, that's a nice coin and a great submission.image

Those 2 body bagged IHC's look very familiar to me. PCGS bagged them for me too.
If indeed they are the same coins that I think they are. Where did you get them?

    PNNA last month.

In Tacoma? If these are the same coins, it's rather ironic as I made a 1963 PF68DCAM 50c on the same submission.

Not in Tacoma, Tukwila. The PNNA is the one decent sized show we have each year. After yours were bodybagged, what did you do with them?

I took them back to the dealer who gladly refunded my money and gave me a discount
on another coin to help defray the submission costs. It's going to be a long time before
I take another chance on raw, toned copper.

That sounds like him. He's a Boise city fireman by trade but also has a coin shop and travels to quite a few shows.

That 1901 has a light blue spot on the cheek doesn't it?
Here's my submission results with those same coins plus a nice '00 pumpkin:

Nice grades on the Kennedies. Too bad about the Indian Heads.

Why did this one go for so low? NGC PR 67 Cam for $111.59 Is is just because it is in a NGC instead of a PGCS? image

    RussRuss Posts: 48,515 ✭✭✭
    Spud,

That's about right for an NGC graded PR67CAM. PCGS brings $300 plus in the same grade.

Russ. purple and pink are two colors you DO NOT want to see on otherwise Unc. copper.

Purple is very common on copper. At least on Lincolns it is. I've had many of them graded both at PCGS and NGC.

To add a little more to this sentiment...I would say if the coin looks like a Red...but has some of theat funky purple.....it could be questionable. Purple is one of the more common colors on RB's and BN MS IHC....you just have to know what to look for.

I couldn't tell a cam from a Dcam if my life depended on it....but those IHC were very obviously AT/recolored. I only know that becuase I have been there and done that and now know some of the tell tale signs.....TBT saved me some cash at FUN this year.
