Boiler... just had to be different didn't you.

Just when you thought you have seen it all, Boiler shows up and proves that you haven't. Keep 'em coming, Boiler!

Since I've posted decent Ty. 1's and 3's I thought I'd add a Ty.2. Anyone else out there who would like to share a cool trime or two?

I just got this one this weekend at the Central States show.

It's a Type III. And quite colorful for a mint state example. image
We are finite beings, limited in all our powers, and, hence, our conclusions are not only relative, but they should ever be held subject to correction. Positive assurance is unattainable. The dogmatist is the only one who claims to possess absolute certainty.

There are some great trime pics posted on this thread..
I did not know there were so many fish scale fans on this forum.
One of the main deficits in Numismatics is the absence of a good reference book on 3CS coins.
I have thought many times about researching and writing one but I simply do not have the time. I put it forward as a challenge for one of you.

Android... WOW! PL obv.? and rev.?
Trime... I'll pass on the challenge though I would buy the bookimage. Do you have any pics to share? I must say I like your handle and was wondering if you would show up. I've always enjoyed your posts.

Nic, simply beautiful 1857. Type 2's almost never look that good.
When you do find one, it's usually the 1858, not one of the earlier dates. Wish I owned simply any 3 cent silver that looked that nice.

Thanks roadrunner. I agree on the type two's. I enjoyed the comments on the recently auctioned 1867 trime appearing in your seated thread. K

<< <i>Here's my 1851-O. This has always been my favorite trime because it was the only branch mint piece. In fact it was the lowested denomination that was issued from a branch mint before the San Francisco mint issued cents in 1908.

Thanks for sharing! Perhaps the most intriguing release in the series!
