Great thread! I collected coins until adolescent pursuits and other hobbies distracted me. Thanks in part to my son's interest in statehood quarters, I picked up the hobby again after an almost three decade absence. Too bad I missed the early '80s and '90s booms in the coin market....
Anyway, all my degrees are in physics:

UCCS Beth-El school of nursing Never used it a day in my life as sad as that is to say Married while still in college and then had babies and stayed home ....I like that part of it though. I just started coin collection a few months ago really. Tried to dip into it when I was about 10 or 11 but didn't really get too far. Now I hope my kids will be interested in it and carry it on to their kids, etc, etc.

BS in Computer Science from Boston College 1985. At the time I would buy an occasional circ Lincoln for my whitman album which was all I could afford at the time.

I maintained the collection I had while in college, bought annual stuff from the mint. Started buying more random things in '89 when I had money to spend. Didn't get into Morgan dollar varieties until about 1995.

Collected since I was 8 years old. Not very active between college and 2003, only bought mint and proof sets from the mint. I'm glad I missed the crazy run-up in 1989, but wish I started up again sooner (like 1998 instead of 2003).

Started collecting at 7 in 1963 and continued through college graduation (my nicest acquisition as a during this time period is an 1830 XF toned Bust Half). Started collecting again 6+ years ago after seeing a hotel marquee advertising a regional coin show (I had never been to a coin show and became curious about what I would find there) and stopping by to check it out.
Reading this thread reveals many forumites with law degrees. I wonder how many are practicing lawyers.

Graduated from tech school for CAD about three years ago... currently pursuing B. Arch from Florida Atlantic/Indian River. I've "restarted" collecting since finishing tech school...had been on a 5+ year hiatus before.
University of Rhode Island 1985....collected before and after but not during...money for coins was reallocated to other things...books, etc. ( I threw that in case my Dad sees this post)...
I attended the University of MD for one year (64-5) and was asked not to return, due to lack of achievement.
This was at a time when I was focused on vest pocket dealing in coins and did not study.
I started collecting in the 7th grade and it has been part of my life for the last 47 years.
PNG member, numismatic dealer since 1965. Operates a retail store, also has exhibited at over 1000 shows. I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.
