gee, Mitch, I would !! But youve got to tip me off to the big stories BEFORE they become the big stories. Thats what makes the news biz.
As you know, from time to time Ive been able to get some numismatic items on the news -- pieces about silver, pattern coins, even the new "money changes" that have been proposed.
Ive even featured some of the guys on these boards in my stories on TV.
there is some "general news interest" in gee-whiz coins.
frankly, anything with eye-popping value can make the TV news. and you've got a fan in me as far as gorgeous Oregons go.
as silver prices move up, and coin prices move up, some extra TV coverage might also help to keep the prices, interest and collectors coming to coins.
<< <i>I just got my Numismatic News - April 20th. An Oregon in 67 sold for $69,000. Someone is gonna take a bath on that coin some day. The guy who sold it is probably having an ectasy that can only be exceeded by private time with his wife. This is truly insane. I don't care if the coin looks better than the color photo on the front page. It surely is a monster BUT $69,000????????????????????????????
The coin sheets for around $200. Maybe it's time for the fellow who bought "the Roanoke" to part with it. >>
Anaconda's comments from another thread. Well, if Adrian thinks it was stupid money, they one has to sit up and LISTEN!
