PAT BRADDICK WINS ROUND ONE OF THE "WORLD SERIES OF MODERN PRICING"!!

wondercoinwondercoin Posts: 16,766 ✭✭✭✭✭
I just listed an IL(d) grading PCGS-MS68 on ebay with an opening bid of $.25 and no reserve. A super tough 2003 state quarter with a current "pop" of 5/0 including the ebay auction coin. Place a guess here on this thread as to what the coin will sell for in my ebay auction at anytime within the first 24 hours of the 5 day auction (after the 24 hour period, no further guesses will be included in the contest). The closest guess WITHOUT GOING OVER the final actual sales price of the ebay auction wins an incredible quality 2003(p) Lincoln cent grading PCGS-MS69RD - a special coin I set aside because of its sensational quality!! Good luck everybody!! image

I don't follow the state quarters very closely, but after checking the population report, it's clear that the quality took a nosedive in 2003. The "D" mint Illinois was a pop 3 in the January report, so a couple of new ones have been made, but it will never be as common in 68 as many of the 2000-2002 dates.

    That said, I'll guess $725.

I'll go $649.99 It's truely one of the toughies and worth more but there seems to be resistance above that level for 2003-d coins.

now if it was a P mint for one of the other states.........$1,000++ i only got $400 and some change for my me-d in 8 with an open Ebay auction a few months ago and $300 and change for al-d in 8. my guess is that those would sell for about double now that the mint is not producing sets.

Mark: Did you ever work an 80 hour work week and then do it again the next week and again and again - that is what it feels like image

But, that is the biggest myth concerning coin dealers, and especially the highly successful ones - THEY WORK LIKE DOGS!!

I elected to not attend the Baltimore auctions this week to focus on selling a great number of coins consigned to me this week from a number of sources. But, a dealer I am friends with left his family last night to get on a "Red Eye" to Baltimore to lot view this morning. Typical delayed flights, hours of sitting around an airport, no sleep last night, arrive on East Coast early a.m. today to spend the entire day today (and tomorrow) lot viewing after getting no sleep the night before. Then, deal with the auctions (place bids, possibly attend all the different sessions in person, etc). Non-stop work to return Thursday night - basically most of the week away from the kids and wife probably going nuts handling family alone all week. Tough job, despite the reports to the contrary image
