It's about the only clad quarter on the list. Eventually I'll download a picture of a nice 1969 and use it.

I'm love old airplanes, specially WWII airplanes. The one pictured in the only flying P-38 F model in the world. It's called the Glacier Girl. It was located 268 feet below the ide in Greenland. I drove 10 to 11 hours to see it fly for the first time in 2002.

I'm stuck with it. Have been, for a while.

Once in a while I'll take a break from it and use one of my coins as an icon, but it's always there in the mirror to haunt me, no matter what...

I own the coin that is my icon. It is a 1960 Franklin with beautiful end roll toning on the obverse.

Because I own it. It is also a gentle reminder, to me, that I was collecting these colorful Ikes long before they were held in any regard and back when a Dealer, who asked the question, "What do you collect?" would follow that question with a loud chuckle upon hearing my answer. Life can't be that serious. Certainly coin collecting isn't. That's my tap on the shoulder.

There was a thread about unopened GSA's, as to whether there was a way to figure out the date without opening it. my idea was to Xray a Morgan to see if I could read the date. That didn't work well because the Morgan is too dense and doesn't have enough relief to show up on film. I then decided to figure out if I could Xray any coin, so I got the highest relief coin I had, a buffalo nickel and took pictures of it. They turned out pretty well with the rev overlying the obv. Still can't read the date, but a unusual picture anyway.

I have mine because this cameo looks like a coin design and when I signed up there were so many coins in use that I didn't want to duplicate any of them. I own this cameo and doubt if anyone will have one like it. By the way, did you know that August ST. Gaudens when studing art worked as a cameo carver?

    I read that somewhere.
    Have a good day, Gary
