Reimaging for consistency sake

Hi all, My imaging capabilities have changed through time and after looking at my web gallery Goetz collection I felt it necessary to begin thinking about reimaging most of the earlier owned pieces again. Many of these images, although nice, do not represent the actual medal and I also wanted to get a homogenious feel to the web gallery. Below are several medals (K-135 and K-146) whose reimaging needs were the most apparent to me.

In reality I guess this can be seen as a SSP thread but I also wanted you to see just how beautiful these medals are "close-up". Enjoy. If you have the time, compare these images with the images of the same medals at the web gallery. You should note a big difference. Scott

Don't you realise you make me feel envious (sp) with your medals and coins and your photo ability? Thank goodness I joined this forum so I can see such great items.

First class, I will say again!

Great, but could you make them a little larger?

5" to 7"? 2 lights-1 and 2 o'clock? Very, very nice! Texture becomes an important part of the image and the slightest flaw stands out. Having said that, these are outstanding pieces and are virtually immaculate. Filling the screen as they do, these medals almost cease to exist as "coins" and become a work of art in the tradition of a fine sculpture or painting.

Cacheman, I haven't seen better anywhere on the web and certainly these are the equal of whatever image in any book you might want to open and compare it to.

    Congratulations!image

heh heh...a little tongue in cheek I see...actually, these images are 800 X 800 pixels and when they come from the camera they are three times this size. I have found 800 pixels to be the best resolution to display images at but usually take them down to 800W X 400H as in the example below. Additionally, everyone's display is different and the 800's fit nicely within the CU threads...at least for me but I know are too intensive for others... hence my normal display like below.
