To celebrate my 10,000 posts I am going to be giving away the following items:

Just post your desire to win. I'll select three people at random within the next two or three days. The prizes have already been sealed in bubble mailers and are unmarked, so there is no way to know who will get which prize.

1. Set of five French One Franc silver coins dated from 1898-1917.

2. Set of world silver coins with Victoria 1837-1901, Edward VII 1901-1910, George V 1910-1936, George VI 1936-1952, Elizabeth II 1952-.

3. Three Silver US Half Dollars (1918-S Walking Liberty, 1959 Franklin, 1964 Kennedy)

I'm too late to enter, but congratulations on the milestone, Michael! I see you are now a member of the rarified 10K+ club!

Seems like just yesterday I was struggling to get this guy to post here at all, and had to drag him in here, kicking and screaming all the way! He joined on his own but made less than ten posts before he lost his password and went dormant. If it weren't for your wise and venerable LordM, our Olde Dead King would not be here, but would instead have been wasting his time elsewhere. Probably with some stoopid political collectibles forum or something. Pah.

I "re-recruited" him. Not sure if that's praiseworthy or not, sometimes.

Arrows of wisdom, 10,000 in all,
unleashed by a King from his stately hall.
Two years of posts, of participation
From Aethelred King, head of his nation.

Straight to the point, to the target they flew,
but not from a weapon or bow made of yew.
His strength was his mind, an intelligence keen,
masked by great age to us it did seem.

His posts were deliberate, concocted with guile
all the while hiding his devilish smile.
But a Dead King he was not,-'twas but a disguise
to hide his youth from inquisitive eyes.

Some knew the truth but most thought him old,
a Dead King whose bones had refused to grow cold.
But it was finally revealed how young he stood,
In reality no King, but a brave Robin Hood.

Knowledge his coin, he was willing to share
With folks whose cupboards were really quite bare.
Again and again, he replied to the questions;
Answering them all; making suggestions.

And now we count posts 10,000 strong
And celebrate them with poems and song.
May he live to post 10,000 more
Before his fingers grow too old and too sore.
