Toned 1935/34 Boone.

Please excuse my photographic skills, I really have a hard time matching the color----more practice would probably help. When I saw the coin it immediately caught me because the entire series is usually found white and lacking luster, at least good luster. This example has strong luster throughout and nice appealing color.

The entire coin is mostly a wash of pink intermingled with gold and blue. The darker areas at the rim are russet changing to gold and then to gun-metal blue to the eventual pink. There are a few scattered contacts on each side, nothing readily apparent without a glass and the strike is quite good.

I'll take it with me on the road while I search for the D and S!!

Keets, verrrrrry nice, and I don't even like Commems.

I'm certain it looks even better in person. It has a "nice, soft, gemmy look" that I love.

i picked up this medal at the same show last weekend, i guess i was into an Indian theme or something. the medal being high relief has great detail. i almost lost this one to mdwoods because he likes tree coins!! he said that it technically doesn't qualify because there are too many trees and you can really only see the trunks. still a nice even color with the grade caused by "drawer rub" which shows as several distinct light spots at the high points.

I saw both coins and the Boone is an exceptionally pretty coin in hand. The same dealer Keets got the Boone from had some other very nice commems and probably 2 dozen slabbed Bust dollars.

    hey Mark

i've rolled that Pan-Pac half over in my head quite a few times. while the seller didn't seem too discouraged not selling it, i see that coin in a top flight collection some day. and the Bust Dollars!!!! if anyone is interested in contacting the dealer, give a PM and i'll hook you up.
