Nice photo Bryan. I think the details on the WLH show up better on toners. That's a beauty.

That is a beautiful coin. I don't understand grading for WLHs. I guess the strike quality varies.

Neat looking coin. Is that likely to be envelope toning?

Not sure as we do not buy or get that many walkers with color.

Question - I don't see many attractively toned Walkers. Re the Walkers shown, they are all
"Short Set" dates. Is this the norm re attractively toned Walkers?

Beautiful! I'd sure pay a premium for one like that...

Most of the attractive ones I see are indeed short set dates. I have seen some from the early dates but not too many. Not to say they are not out there. I do have a 1916s graded PCGS au58 with some rather attractive album toning.

For me to buy a toned Walker it needs to IMO, set itself apart from others. At shows I see a fair amount with some attractive toning but not quite for me. Prices on the high grade Walkers have been increasing lately. Now I'm starting to see more toned ones offered. Funny how that happens isn't it?

My criteria for buying toned Walkers in high grade is they meet the assigned grade without a bump for color. I just say NO to market grading. Now yes there will be a substantial premium to pay, but I want the grade to be ALL there.

Now here's a toned Walker -- it's a 1937-P graded MS68 by NGC and is unquestionably the coolest WL half I've ever owned.

Mike, glad I crushed you with my flattery. Hopefully you seen my wink. Yours looks to be pretty wild, and I hope to take a look at Santa Clara.

JBsteven.... We waited all day for THAT? Actually all the Walkers posted look nice. I like that once in a while we have a toned Walker thread.

I know what you mean stman..... I look at my Walkers everyday, and particularly the 34-S.... To be honest the pics do not do justice to it. I guess I could send it to you for a up close and personal viewing!image If you promise to return it!image

Puff that's nice of you and I would return it, but not sure what condition it would be when it got back to you.image

Hey you wanted my 42d? Well done deal? I know better but a guy can try I guess. I like the color on my 42d and in person is much better as well. Yours being an earlier date and I can imagine rocking that coin around.
