I got my copy of the Numismatist today, with Shiroh's massive (7 pages!) article about transition-year coins. These are coins with the same denomination and date, but different designs (like the 1909 Indian Head and Lincoln cents).

Great concept for an article, Shiroh, and well-executed too. Let's see more!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Thanks! I haven't even received my copy yet, so I don't know if they got all my revisions. image

I've been told my extensive footnotes will be available on the online version to be posted here in a week or two.

Has anyone else received the latest copy of Numismatist yet? I'm dying to bore my non-collector friends by showing them my article, but it hasn't reached the Left Coast yet. image

Nope, my issue hasn't gotten to San Diego yet.
I've noticed that I get it a week or so after folks start referencing it here.

I second that! It's great to see board members getting articles published in the coin mags.
