How can anyone typecast themselves like that? Can a conservative ever agree with a liberal? If so, is the idea conservative or liberal?
Do you know anyone who is against Social Security? Did you know when established by the Democrats the Republicans and conservatives were totally against SS?
Do you know anyone against education? Why is spending money on education viewed as "liberal"?
Do you anyone against health care? Why is a national health care plan viewed as "liberal"?
If I am for the legalization of drugs but there be mandatory random drug testing with severe penalties for users am I am conservative, MOTR or liberal? Who says?
Finally, those who always vote along party lines clearly don't understand the issues but that method is "safe" for those who don't wish to strain the brain.
Conservative and proud of it.
Personally if you are liberal or conservative that is OK - I just don't know how people can be undecided a few days before a Presidential election for example.

I for one am totally against the social security system. It is the equivalent of welfare for the aged and is an unfair generational redistribution of money. As an employee, I pay the max into the system and since I am my own employee, as an employer I have to match that max. The max seems to increase each year in what feels like a geometric progression. I will never get anywhere near my money back, never mind a return on what was my money. Social security is the biggest Ponzi scheme going.
Don't get me going on national health care.
This belong in the open forum.

Anyone catch Bush's tax cut plan? send $100 checks to middle-class workers and $100,000,000 dividend tax-cut checks to the richest. Pretty shameful plan if you ask me.
The only thing that bothers me about the Social Security system (besides the fact that it robs from the poorest Americans to support the richest Americans) is that it's capped at the first $56,000 of your income. What kind of sense does that make? Bill Gates pays the same amount of Social Security tax as someone who makes $56,000 per year.

You should know better then to argue with Rich hating people who think Gates just sits around counting his money and laughing at the poor.
I'm sure all the poor people on this board have created the same # of jobs that Gates, Dell and the others have. I imagine the U.S. has just been lucky and has just been the world's leading country because of poor people who sit around whining instead of doing, right?

Even if that were true, guess what - Gates won't need Social Security - unlike most people!

Don't get me wrong because I'm a conservative Republican who believes that the federal government should not be in charge of yet another bloated program but the only difference I see is that instead of waiting in line for your health care, you are finally ushered into the examination room (after a lengthy wait in the lobby) where you again begin your long wait for the nurse. When she or he finally arrives to take your vitals you once again begin your lengthy wait for your doctor; but at least you can wait in your private cubicle; but nevertheless.....wait...and wait.....and.....yawn.....
