My New Sig Line

Some people have been critical lately of posts dealing with sample slabs, old slabs etc. They say they are never going to be worth much or not collectible. I have always disagreed. I am now proud that I would have many registry points and plastic in my slab collection. I guess I am stupid. Only time will tell, but it sure is fun to collect them and many are really hard to find and more scarce than alot of coins. I like plastic, especailly old plastic.

Seriously, though, if somebody enjoys collecting potholders woven from cat hair, more power to 'em. It's only stupid if they're allergic to cats.

I totally agree, LM! Well, depending on what the pop report says, of course.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

I like your new sig line. Sure to turn a few heads. But you need to remove the "I'm Stupid". That is clearly not true.

Beautifully rendered Cameron.
I love it.
OH YEAH!!!!
I especially liked the line about how collecting pot holders made of cat hair is only stupid if you are allergic to cats!!! LOL!!!

Now listen boy, I'm tryin' to teach you sumthin' . . . . that ain't no optical illusion, it only looks like an optical illusion.
My mind reader refuses to charge me....
Collectors of die varieties for large cents, half cents, bust coinage etc.
Collectors of error coins. (In the early part of the century dealers would literally throw errors such as off-centers, brockages etc out in the trash as being defective and worthless.)
Colectors of very high grade state quarters.
Collectors of Trade dollars because they weren't legal tender and were only worth the bullion value. (Early 20th century)
Collectors of Modern commemoratives
In the early 1960's coin books recommended that collectors just spend their Morgan and Peace dollars because they were extremely common and would never be worth anything.
I haven't seen any posts "critical lately of posts dealing with sample slabs, old slabs etc" but I may have been missing something.
If the naysayers are for real then they are dead wrong. Sample Slabs were originally given away for free and some of what I paid only several dollars for several years ago is now selling for $20-$60.
As far as Registry points, I have a NGC Sample Slab in my Registry Set and it's worth 71 points.
Not worth anything? I wish you 7 competing slab collectors that run my bids up on eBay believed that! Conder101's book sure won't make interest & prices drop any.
