Would you buy the French wave Coin and will anyone here admit having one?

"The Last Franc" has been named the Coin of the Year by "World Coin News". Should we boycott France and not buy this
coin?image

I bet someone has one and will not admit it. It does look neat!

Here's a French coin. I own it. I like it. I own a Stone Mountain Commemorative half dollar too. It doesn't mean my sympathies would have been with the South during the Civil War.

The same goes for owning American coins as they put Sadaam in power, armed him and supported him through 2 (Carter & Reagan) administrations! We should all start boycotting American coins. Whoops, that means that we'll have to close down this whole forum. Maybe I'll have to rethink this whole idea of boycotting and ridiculing everyone who doesn't agree with me.

You should buy what you like. Jumping on bandwagons can get tricky.image

I wouldn't buy French dressing if it was the only salad manufactured. And yes, I know it isn't made there. image

I dont hold French coinage hostage to what the government does or says.

I do make an exception however, for coinage from the nazi period in Germany

I saw a pic of it. Looked kind of interesting. But not really interested in buying it.

Going to war without the French is like going hunting without your accordion.

I own a beautiful UNC 10 centimes from the mid 1800s. It is in extremely pristine condition, with hints of red. IMO, it is as aesthetically pleasing as my 1856 MS64 large cent. I especially love the eagle on the back. Great coin. The only thing I find pleasing about France.

I wouldn't buy one of those if I had an otherwise complete 1 franc collection! Not because it's French, just because it's shape makes it ugly.

I do not owe one and its not on my list to acquire. The reasons are not because of France's foreign policy (or lack thereof...), the coin just seems sterile considering French history.

I have one ... what of it? It's just a coin ... and a non-circulating one at that. It's hardly the lifeblood of the French economy. Believe me, I find it quite amusing to see US coin collectors who don't own a single non-US coin (or at least won't admit to having oneimage) swearing they'll not buy a French coin. LOL!! image
