A newbie thanks this forum

As a newly hooked coin lover I want to thank this forum for the education one can recieve by reading the threads of the many experts out there. I was asked to inventory a 4200 coin collection for a relative and became hooked on the history and artistry found in the coin world. I have read all of the books but this forum is the real education.

What a nice introduction, oldshep. Welcome!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Actually, there was - a 1916-D Mercury dime - I sent this into PCGS to be graded, it's at least a G4. Plus there were 160 Morgans, but my favorites are the Walking Liberty halfs -I think this is the best designed coin made -(thus my love of the Silver Eagles). Most of the collection is in circulated coins - but still fascinating.
