Should our new coinage express the new more militant spirit of the American people

I do not believe the American people have a more militant spirit...They regretfully and rightfully are "condoning" military action to counter a new and real threat....Our isolationist bent still exists, but sadly isolationism is no longer possible.....Attacking Iraq is a very, very poor option -- but NOT attacking is a far worse option....Sometimes decision makers have no good options, only "less bad" options......Indeed, 28 years of military service and intelligence analysis have taught me "life ain't fair."....It's also taught me that "leaders" do what they need to do.... Critics do nothing and complain about what others do.

Rainbow - Truer words were never spoken. Somehow my thread got hijacked.

we got off the topic of exactly what our new coinage should represent. I believe our interests

around the world and at home will be attacked by enemies, and we shall be thwarted in our

efforts by former allies. Our coinage should represent our enduring qualities and courage as

    a nation and a people.

Our coinage should express the spirit of the American people period.

We now have our dead "Kings" (and some politically correct women) all over our coins. George Washington would have a fit if he knew his image was all over our money.

Our coinage was beautiful in the past as it symbolized the spirit of Liberty,Strength, and Peace. Let's move back to the old symbols.

And lose the cents and just call it hepcats..... the half would be 50 hepcats! That'll show our muscle through our coins......

    BSqr,

That cartoon captures the essence of Patty Murray perfectly, right down to the bad haircut. I'm deeply ashamed of the idiot voters in my state.

That, I guess, is what makes this country great; your right to dribble nonesence and stupidity and my right to look down on you with disgust!
    BINGO!

Hah! That's very funny, I didn't know you could draw so well. But you cut George Bush out of the picture, since he was sitting in the last chair.
Thanks for spelling that out for us, I wasn't quite sure if you were against the war because of moral reasons or because Bush is our President and not Gore. I guess you are a true Democrat. Equating Bush to Hitler, Mussolini, bin Laden, Castro, Hussein, Kim Jong Ill, etc. is not an attack on the ethics of war but a rediculous, deplorable attack on Bush personally just because you didn't vote for him. There's obviously no other reason for the comparison because I know you're smarter than to believe the idiocy you just spewed.

    How about a coin with:

American soldier bayoneting an Iraqi baby or
American tank running over some Iraqi children or
American bomb blowing up Iraqis to bits or
American general standing atop a heap of Iraqi bodies or
American mothers crying over their American wardead.

*First, American soldiers do not carry bayonettes and even if they did they surely wouldn't bayonette a baby. Pure crap and filth.
*Yes they do use tanks, but not to run over children. Especially innocent children. You need therapy if you believe what you're saying dude.
*Yes we do use bombs but primarily target buildings and structures, not people. And especially not civilians. Now, some dude cooking up anthrax when we strike is gonna get splattered but then again why shouldn't he be?
*Right, like our soldiers are gonna get together a bunch of bodies and pile them up and stand on them - dude, lay off the war movies!
*There will be a handful of casualties but these people will be heroes, not lambs to the slaughter, and their Mothers may cry and mourn but they will also be proud that their sons (and daughters) have defended your right to spew forth such rediculous dribble as what you've said already.

if we go to war, an unprovoked war, unsupport by the world,
Unprovoked? I'm sorry if this stirs up the French in you, but Saddam openly paid off the families of suicide bombers in Israel. He's an open supporter of Terrorism and should therefore be treated as a terrorist. Many people seem to forget this. Unsupported? A simple majority of the UN does support us, but a few powerful members do not. We should withdraw from the UN and leave it to crumble in it's incompetance and irrelavence. We should also export people such as Truthteller who use slanderous, rediculous, not-even-grounded-in-reality statements to refute a Just and necessary war over to France where he belongs.

Actually, we *do* need the French's support in this war: someone has to teach the Iraqis how to surrender.

I must of hit a nerve, or your conscience is bothering you because from your spewing, it makes me feel that you know I'm right, but just can't deal with it. I forgive you.

    TRUTH
  • Let's show the truth through our coinage
Yes let's. Liberty with a rifle in one hand and the scales of justice in the other.

How about a coin with NO WAR on the obverse and GOD&PEACE(with a little bear) on the reverse. Surely the warmongers wouldn't object to that.

    TRUTH
  • How about a coin with Mr. HomeRunHall putting duct tape on the mouths of members on the obverse. The reverse could have booted members being carried away wrapped in PCGS bodybags.

It would be oh, soooooooooooooooo......oh nice! imageimageimage
