sadysta1sadysta1 Posts: 1,311 ✭✭✭
For the past two weeks I have been withdrawing money for Baltimore coin show. That's the good thing. Now for the bad thing - I cannot use the money I got. A week ago I went to the bank and I got this bill. Arghhh.... I really did not want want to spend it, so I put it away. I went to the bank today to take out some more money away and this time I got this!!!! image DOUBLE ARGHHH.... This one I cannot spend for sure. Right now I'm afraid to go to the bank. image

Isn't it amaing or what?

Huh? I'm not a currency collector. Look like hundreds to me. What's the significance? Is it the series?

Sorry, I don't know currency, but I would take them to the show and trade with them or sell them and spend it on what you want.

Whoa! FRNs from 1950 image I suggest you get some more and milk them for a profit at a currency table before you go buying!

  • What is it that makes breaking a hundred such a painful experiance? I know I hate to do it. In fact if I don't want to spend a lot of cash I ask for big bills.image

Actually those have no value over face. A currency dealer wouldn't be interested in them because they are both circulated, and the one has writing on it. A definite killer. Those notes are still VERY common in European banks, as are $10, $20, and $50 notes from the older series. In the condition those are in, they MIGHT have some collectible value over face to a serious collector in - say - another 20-50 years.

I agree. Spend them and don't think twice. Just because you don't see them everyday and may seem unusual they are very common and not worth anything over face. Go to the show and buy something cool!!!

I do the same thing. I deliver chinese food for money right now, and I am always finding old bills, and I NEVER spend them.
