Yes, Boeing headquarters moved to Chicago, with about 500 employees, but they left 60,000 workers back in Seattle to assemble the commercial airplanes, at least for now.

Correction time:
In Everett, WA, the largest building in the world is used as the assembly line for the 747, 767, and 777 widebody jets.
In Renton, WA, most of Boeing's narrowbody planes, the 737 and 757 are assembled.
In Long Beach, CA, the 717 is assembled.
Everyone here should know their Boeing geography!

Interesting fact: The Boeing Employees' Coin Club has 152 members, with 90 of them retirees.
BECC also mints a 1.5 ounce medal annually, depicting their aircraft in silver, pewter, and bronze, usually with a mintage of around 1000 for silver.

<< <i>They cancelled the show, so nobody should waste any time coming to Kent trying to cherry-pick good stuff.

That's funny Russ....... I heard a group of coin collectors saying "Kent???? Why there ain't nuthin' in Kent but rednecks, hicks, cows, and the Compucheap Hoard of '64 Kennedys! Why the hell they havin' a show in Kent?"
Interesting fact: The Boeing Employees' Coin Club has 152 members, with 90 of them retirees.
That's because the 90 retirees are the only ones left who have enough money around to purchase coins!
This is usually one of the better shows that we have here in Washington and Oregon. If you see a guy talking BS about Mercs with a dealer say hello. It could be me. Steve Jones, Art Lowery and Jim Hart are the most likely canidates to receive my ration of BS. Rick Hennesy also if he is there.

All of you cherry-pickers that had this one on your "must see" list need to make other plans.

My brother asked me about some coins the other day that I have never heard about but there is a market for them somewhere.
Boeing made some gold coins awhile back that they offered to employees, I think. I am trying to find out more about these and the Boeing Employees'Coin Club is about as close to what I need as I have found yet!

P.S. .....IS THERE A SHOW OR NOT ?
Ken
There will be more competitive displays this year, BECC has been encouraging them, and the 70+ tables that have been sold is more than last year.
The BECC did mint gold Boeing medals in some years from 1966 to 1985, with mintage ranging from 2 to 66. These are 1.5 ounce medals, occasionally they are auctioned at club meetings. A dealer who sells Boeing medals is Jim Payne P.O. Box 46374 Seattle, WA 98146 (no e-mail). For 2003, the KC-135 Stratotanker is featured on the medal.
I will be at the show on Sunday with my nine year old daughter, I should be hanging out with Mark Entman of B.U.S.T. Coinage at around 1:00.

Uh.... wait a minute.... Kent, WA? Ummm.... wrong Kent.
You are summoned to Kent. King ArtR demands it. Now mount thy steed and ride with the morning moon. There are great deeds to be done.

I don't know if my steed ('88 Jeep Comanche) would make the 2,446 miles.

I thought he stepped down... haven't heard much from him lately.

heheh.
edit:
Having watched the aforementioned security guard... (who likely hails from Seattle) it's not his GUN he has his hand on.
<< <i>I'll be the tall, skinny, bearded, long-haired, 501s wearing hippy looking type that the security guard is following around with his hand on his gun. >>
I'll be the skinny guy next to the security guard trying to buy his gun from him while Russ is still in range.
