AU-55. There is rub on the high points. I'll assume that there is luster here. If there is not much of it is coming up on my screen. If not, it might be lower, but no lower than EF-45.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

The scan actually looks a bit better than the coin in hand. I didn't doctor the pic, just scanned very well.

If you said au58....... you're close

    It's actually au55.

Thanks for your comments, it's amazing how difficult it can be to grade from a scan.

  • If it was a pass or play (buy the coin). I would have paid way to much for it.image

    True...true....

I'm actually surprised in a bunch of the dollar auctions I won that the actual coin is a lot better than the scan....

    Yeah .... no.

But it was a great job of grading the coin, I have it in my hand and couldn't have gotten that close from the scans.

    Thanks, LL

66 is a pop 3 coin... I held a 66 and 65 once... then saw a guy dish out $35,000 in wrapped stacks of bills for the two... COOL! image

    Whatever the grade, NICE COIN!!!
