I would like to introduce myself. My name is John Q. and I've been lurking here for about a month. You seem to have a good network of forum/ebay sellers/coin dealers/inernet sellers here.
I've learned a great deal reading all your posts. I warn you though, i as green as they come before. I still don't know all the terminology and I'm sure I'll be corrected 100 or so times.
My interests right now are modern Lincoln errors, 1920's Peace dollars, and Gold eagles.

Glad to have you join us - gotta warn ya, it can get pretty strange in these parts now and again. Keep your hands and feet away from the trolls and you'll do just fine!

Welcome to the boards. You are correct, there is a lot of info that can be had off of these boards. But sometimes, you need to take what is said with a grain of salt. Glad to have you aboard.

BTW, is your past name Public?

worth the effort. If you ask any question politely it will always be answered politely.
We have smart and knowledgable people on this Forum with expertise in all aspects
of numismatics. Some are kind, some are grumpy, but all are willing to help, inform and teach.

Just for the record, there is no such animal as a 1920-S Peace Dollar. Oh, you meant Peace Dollars from the 1920's, like 1922, 1923.....! Sorry, I couldn't resist.
I hope you enjoy it here, even with all of the wise guys floating around.
Welcome, you will find this board most interesting and every so often most informative.
Joe.
<< <i>Welcome! The gold eagles you collect: are they pre-civil war or post civil war? Branch mints? >>
I have just have one in my collection Tom. It's a 1986, post civil war Theres a mark under her neck line. Looks like an A with an F on top? Is that the MM area? Lesson #1
Thanks to all for the warm greetings and salutations SP?!!
I am in the market for a digital cam now so it might take a while before I can show and tell. Be patient Yall.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

You say you are totally green.. don't worry, I was too.. with the help of the people here I am turning
a nice yellow now.. (does that mean I am now toned? I should be worth more!)
I cant tell you how much I have learned here, more than I would have on my own, for sure.
Good luck with your Peace Dollars (that is where I am headed after I finish up my Ikes and Kennedy
collection. Should only take me till 2030 or so)

There is a wealth of information to be had on these forums! Enjoy!
As others have mentioned, there can be a lot of drivel here but a lot of good information and good people too. You just have to learn to weed through the bad to get to the good
In my signature line, you'll see a link to a page with a list of forum members, and links to their ebay auctions. If you want to be added to the list, just send me a PM (private message - just click on the at the top of this message)
