Why I love PCGS

Well, I don't love PCGS. But, as a nod to those who say that there's been too much PCGS-bashing, I figure I'll list some of the reasons I like PCGS. (Please don't mistake this post as saying that I like PCGS best.)
BTW, the list below mixes PCGS with CU as a whole in some places.
1. Their slabs (currently) command great respect in the sight-unseen market. This equates to good liquidity for those who do trading.
2. I like the feel of their slabs. They feel solid and stack nicely.
3. I like the look of their slabs for brilliant coins.
4. I like their coin numbering system. I guess that makes me a digit-head!
5. I like the way they organize their pops.
6. I like their initiative with the online registry service.
7. I like their initiative with the message boards. Sure beats rec.coins.collecting!
8. Of the few times I've had to partake of PCGS' customer service, I've found the people helping me to be nice and helpful.
9. Stacy has nice eye appeal.
10. I like that they're starting to get into certifying postage stamps. Great, not another way for me to spend my friggin' money!

Without trying to give away the fact that I'm a dirty, lowdown dawg... Where is Stacy, any pictures? At least TWODOGS posts pictures of the love of his life in the open forum

I wish the other services had this.

Okay, let me get this strait. Stacy is a total babe, and ya'll scared the poor lady away acting like pervs.
I knew there was a reason I found this place many months ago, great minds travel in the same gutter.

Reading these boards, one gets the sense that there are many factions represented with wildly differing levels of experience, expectation, and opinions of PCGS's services. I believe there are plenty of things to like/dislike about all of the services, and I find your balance refreshing.
and it sets us apart from practitioners and consultants. Gregor
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
I'm not mellowing. I just think that this board has gotten out of hand with its bickering about which service this and which service that. I honestly believe that only an honest and balance critique of 3rd-party grading in general and of each specific service will make things better for us (the consumers) in the long run.
Anyway, that's why I felt motivated to say something nice about PCGS. It seems that the most vocal of the pro-PCGS crowd is getting its message lost due to the tone of its responses to perceived PCGS-bashing by the so-called pro-NGC crowd.
BTW, I think it also can't hurt to remind everyone that one can bash PCGS and not be anti-PCGS. Likewise, one can bash PCGS and not be pro-NGC. One can bash any specific service simply one is against 3rd-party grading in general. Finally, one can bash simply to exercise the right as consumers to vocalize his complaints.

PS Mark, more comments reminding me of earlier English or Shakespeare just might nudge me in the direction of PCGS!

alas, poor yorrick. i knew him horatio.
sometimes i think that any anti-post about whatever service is just pent-up-angst over a bad experience or series of bad experiences and the poster actually thinks that they can somehow hurt the offending service or turn people away from it. kinda similar to the way people will expect a friend to share their dislike for another person. it always makes more sense on both counts if i base things on my personal experience. which is precisely why i avoid ACG material.
i've posted before that my ideal slabbed coin would have the features of about 5 different company's represented. so wouldn't it be neat to have one grader from each of those services give a grade and then just average it and assign it to the PCNGANASEIC holder!!

This is from Hamlet, right? (Or, is it from Macbeth?)

my favorite without a doubt shakespear line, and i haven't a clue where it came from would have to be the following-----Nothing is good or bad except my thinking makes it so! and that's my tricky way of heading any wet blankets off at the PAST. none of the services are inherently good or bad until they enter into the dark and scary recesses of the space between my ears. a friend likes to remind me that it's a scary place that i shouldn't venture into alone!! once they get in there and make a poor impression, yikes!
