COTD: 1907 High Relief St. Gaudens PCGS MS-67

In keeping with Wondercoin's COTD theme, here's a piece to feast your eyes upon . This is not a for sale post, just for enjoyment purposes if you like this kind of thing.

For your viewing pleasure is this beautiful 1907 PCGS MS-67 High Relief $20 Saint Gaundens. We were most amazed when it came in because it's actually very true to grade with barely a single minute mark visible to the naked eye. Lovely friction free leg, spot free and un-tampered with surfaces, just a clean, strict, and stunning super gem.

1907 High Relief PCGS MS-67

A great coin which was a pleasure to handle and destined for a type set which should blow some minds when it comes up for sale one of these days.

Work of art. I wish the mint could find someone as talented as St. Gaudens to assist in the redesign of coins today. That would be great to have all of our coins look as nice.

I think that coin should be immediately donated to my personal treasury for enjoyment and safekeeping... I'll even allow for supervised visitation.

Shucks, you're not selling? Man, I really wanted that one image.

    Gorgeous coin.

Wow. You can sit at your computer all day and pull up pictures of coins... and then one just kind of slaps you out of a stupor. Beautiful. Long live St. Gaudens.

  • Thanks for sharing with us Jon. I would be interested if you had a 50 year layaway plan.

I just pulled out my Webster's and looked up the definition of the word stunning. There is a picture of that coin. Does it mean I'm a pervert because I got aroused looking at that scan? That is the paradigm by which all coinage on the planet should be judged.

Or, to put it simply: HOLY CRAP!

That is one incredibly beautiful coin... Cheers, RickO
  • This coin should go in the Smithsonian
Found a circulated 1903 0 Morgan to complete my Morgan dollar collection!!
  • I'm sure the Smithsonian has several examples of the HR Saint sitting undisplayed somewhere with the thousands of other rarity's that have no room to be displayed, quite a shame IMO.

That is an incredible coin, not sure I could ever afford one, but there's always hope right.
  • Thanks for sharing, I love how HR saints just look like scuptures standing in front of gold wallpaper.

Thanks for a glimpse at coin design at its best. I've had this image saved on my computer a long time for occasional inspiration.
