Hey everybody,
The team is hard at work finalizing the rules for the next competition, and I personally feel that you will love some of the exciting things that we have in store. We can't wait to share more with you.
In the meantime, I wanted to draw your attention to how PCGS CoinFacts narrative and Condition Census updates improve visibility for PCGS Set Registry sets.

Take this screenshot of the 1892 Isabella Quarter. Here you will see the improved formatting for provenance, past auctions, and current Set Registry status. The outbound links to the auction lots allow you another way to see the coin in the context of the market and the other coins at the "top of pops." I've always viewed coins as individual characters in a larger story, and I think this presentation makes the case that the finest examples of any given coin have their own personalities and stories to tell.
I've used this system for my own market research for years, and I'm glad that I can share this with you on PCGS's fantastic CoinFacts platform.
The pace for these updates has been between 125–200 a month, with a good mix of modern, classic, rare, and collector coins. I'm sure you will see updates to your favorite series soon.

Charles_Morgan, Is anything being done regarding Mr. Hansens Registry sets still in active status despite some of his coins being crossed to CACG holders ?
Short answer, yes. That said, let's not go on a DLH witch hunt.

I’ve seen some of the updates and the changes are great. Well done!
That said, let's not go on a DLH witch hunt.
Not wanting to do that. I have all the respect in the world for Mr. Hansen as you can see by the way I refer to him. I admire what he has done for the hobby. I just believe in following the rules.
So we know facts: some of Hansen’s coins have been crossed out of their PCGS holders over eight months ago. As those and other coins have been crossed out of their PCGS holders, many/most of those coins have not been removed from sets that have not been retired! So please tell me, where is the witch hunt? Are our eyes lying, or has PCGS been allowing this to continue to occur?
What would be helpful is to let us know when his crossed coins will be removed from his current PCGS sets, or when will every set of his that has had at least one coin crossed that was not removed, having those sets retired?
PCGS should be transparent, and that has not been the case, has it?
Steve

Plus the entire set is listed as CACG on the CAC Registry.
But with that said, as long as PCGS is aware and working on the issue, let’s give Charles some time to resolve it.
Ok, but no one should categorize these legitimate requests based on facts as a witch hunt! And as noted, there’s still no transparency with information, as this has been dragging on for many months.
The solution is simple AND can be a win-win for everyone, including D.L. Hansen - Have him retire every set of his at this time that contains any coin that has been crossed, and once that is done, he can casually remove coins from those retired sets at his convenience. This way his registry set scores will be fully protected in each of those retired sets!
But for some reason, he’s been insisting on keeping many sets current that have had some coins in those sets crossed!

Yes, but I think Charles was only recently hired to fix the Registry [in multiple facets] and therefore needs a bit of time once becoming aware of the issues. And DLH is off fighting the good fight for the people of Ukraine so I will certainly cut him some slack. His trade dollar proofs are for the most part majestic [although he needs 2 or 3 of mine to create an unbelievable set]. I have mixed emotions about picking up a top pop bonus when I know I don’t have the actual finest coin.
So have you contacted Hansen and asked him to remove his sets or not?
IMO this is the first thing that should be or have been done!
His reply or failure to do so tells you your next action.

Kennedys are my quest...
Hi Charles,
Regarding the Condition Census in the PCGS Coin Facts. The number 1 RB coin under 1915 matte proof lincoln cents is graded PCGS PR 66+.
This coin was acquired by me and is in my toned matte proof lincoln registry set Cherry Bomb and has certification # 48100054.
The issue is that the coin is now graded PCGS PR 67+ BN!
The TrueView image does not show the certification number in my registry set or in the condition census for the RB 1915 matte proof lincoln cent. The image is not displayed at all in the condition census for the BN matte proof lincoln cents.
These updates to the top pop coins have not occurred in a timely manner if ever in the past.
I believe that my coin really is RB. And apparently the PCGS graders did also at one time recently. The difference in price is substantial, and I have paid the higher price already to acquire this treasure.
This coin and the top pop PCGS BN 1915 matte proof lincoln both will be submitted for on site grading in Phoenix.
The value of the condition census, when accurate, cannot be overstated. It is a registry for the top population coins rather than the top registry sets, and can disproportionately affect the market for such.
The image of this coin appeared today on Coin Facts still graded BN. The Cert Verification is currently invalid, but I assume temporary. No update yet to Condition Census.
Hi Spodlas, I’ve updated the CoinFacts pages for the 1915 Cent. I'll be cleaning up the population tables next, as a few high-end coins are currently overreported. Nothing major or shocking will come from these adjustments, unlike what will happen to a few other coins that I've worked on recently.

Once again, thank you @Charles_Morgan , for the work you and @PCGS_Hy do for the Registry.
We greatly appreciate this, after an unfortunate large gap in time from your predecsessors.

Charles, I concur with winesteven. The improvements you made to CoinFacts pages for the 1915 matte proof Lincoln cents is greatly appreciated! I look forward to similar changes in the other matte proof lincoln cents when you have the chance particularly the 1909 VDBs. Thank you so much!
