?? on Types of Proof Sets
Hello all - I have been organizing my dads coin collection by type (as suggested by very helpful people on this board) As I am doing this I am finding different types of proof sets. There are several labeled "Prestige" that are in nicer packaging - does that make any difference? I

Yes. The dollar is 90% silver.

Yes, the mint has issued special Proof sets now and then which included that year's commemorative silver dollar. They no longer do that. The silver dollar bumps up the price about $70 to $100 depending on the price of silver at the time. The rest of the set does not amount to much.

If you have any more 1990 sets then look for a missing mint mark [S] on the cent.
Just remember...the advice you receive on a site is worth every bit of what you paid for it.
These sets also tone / tarnish frequently because of the packaging.

I acquired this one from a Prestige Set. I didn't monkey with it, but it's possible that somebody else did before I bought the sets.
