Post your best acquisition of 2025
I completed a couple of sets over the past year and added to my BOX of 20 as well. Of all the coins I managed to accumulate over the past year, I like this one the best: 1854 $3 Dollar (AU53 CAC). This coin completed Gold Denominations... at least for me...

Getting this thing properly imaged is on my long coin related to do list. The eye appeal is off the charts (to me).
A real deal 1860 “Abram” Lincoln election token.
Took a pretty intricate trade involving several parts to get it in my collection, and I am thrilled to own it.
Cherry picked this off a Heritage Auction. It already had the bean so it was resubmitted after the Variety designation was made. It's the top pop coin for RPM 3. Definitely my Best Buy of the year.

This addition to my early type set is one of my favorite purchases this year.
This one, which completed my 8-coin double dime set.
1875 PR64 CAC—Aug 2025; from GreatCollections; the 1875 proof turned out to be the most challenging to locate within my criteria. I resisted the urge to acquire examples that weren't "all there" a few times. No CAC sticker on the coin at auction, but it had the originality I was seeking in the grade I wanted. I sent the coin to CAC after receiving it from GC, and she beaned!

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
I love the All Seeing Eye design and have one in my collection featuring it. Well done

Definitely this one:

Empty Nest Collection
Lot 41470 Stacks Summer 2025
I got this one for a great price and she is solid for the grade too.

That would have to be this one, which just showed up yesterday.
Best may mean different things to each collector. While not the most expensive or highest grade coin I bought in 2025 this little item sure did/does tickle my fancy, bought from the OP on the BST.
My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I've had 5 total acquisitions this year and each are spectacular in their own right, but this one may slightly edge out the other four:
USAF (Ret.) 1985 - 2005. E-4B Aircraft Maint. Crew Chief and Contracting Officer.
✓ Everyman Mint State Carson City Morgan Dollars (1878 – 1893)
✓ Morgan Dollar GSA Hoard (1878 – 1891)
✓ Everyman Mint State Lincoln Cents (1909 – 1958)
✓ Matte Proof Toned Lincoln Cents (1909 – 1916)
My best overall acquisition of the year was this gold Laurel of James I (he of King James Bible fame). I traded a PCGS MS70 gold American Eagle and a nice Puerto Rican peso for it. Was more interested in the historical gold instead of the modern bullion coin. Bullion prices soared after I made the swap, but I'm still OK with it. I have less bullion here than I did with the AGE, but it's still a healthy sized chunk of gold.
However, my best United States coin of the year was this, in kind of an echo to the one in the OP. It also finished out the gold denominations for me. Apparently @lkenefic and I were thinking along similar lines!
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
Was a great year of purchases this year. So many different coins added to enhance my collection. This Top Pop ranks among the best. Zack.

2025 was very unremarkable for me in numismatics. Picked up a couple of nicely toned coins and some random graded Morgans when I found deals on them. Otherwise, it’s been quiet. If I had to pick my favorite for the year, I guess it would be this Peace that I got for my date set.
2025 was the first year I was not able to add any coins, or make any upgrades, to my Lib $2.50 set.

I was able to add this Gordian III aureus to my "One per Century" set.

That’s a very, very cool coin.
Probably this one for me... Purchased raw at my local coin shop.

OMG he's fabulous! His grown up protector/preceptor dog looks very committed to the job too.
Only bought 1 coin this year.
It was just $300 over spot and it looked too good to pass up.
Plus DLRC makes it way too easy to buy stuff.

My Saint Set
Posted this elsewhere several weeks ago but with just a link to view; thought it deserved a more visible and direct viewing presence. I only purchased a few coins this year, and this was my single Morgan dollar acquisition: NGC65*.
A bit off topic, but this one by a mile.

The year isn't over. But my coin purchases for the year are.
I only bought four coins this year. All were special to me. But this one, which just arrived two days ago, is, by far, the most spectacular coin in my entire collection.

Lots of niceties in this thread. I have not bailed my latest, possibly, best purchase of the year out of lay-a-way yet, but the last payment is on its way

Hard to say, I had a lot of great acquisitions this year. I would say one of my most favorites is this Ancient Macedon under Rome First Meris Tetradrachm. It has a beautiful high relief design.

Love all the dark side stuff! Especially the ancients. Cool pick-ups, everyone!
Here is mine:

IMO, Easily one of the prettiest silver dollars I have seen.
Not a coin but here are my two most important acquisitions for 2025. The first is what I consider to be one of the best New York Nationals out there - it's a number 1 note from the only bank to operate in Tottenville, NY - a small village at the southern tip of Staten Island in New York City. Because of its value, the owner was reluctant to ship it to me so, in August, I flew up to New Jersey, met him at his home, picked up the note, and flew back the same day. Haven't done a roundtrip flight in one day in many years. The other pickup happened the last Wednesday of July - my wife and I were attending a church supper when a car pulled up outside the church, the driver tossed a kitten out the car window, and took off. Well, of course, we took it home and, two days later, we went to the vet and found out we were the proud parents of a little girl that was about a month old and weighed all of 0.8 of a pound. However, she was fine and in great shape. Our other three older cats were not too impressed but she hit it off quite well with our German Shepherd and now the two of them sleep together each night. Ruth will be off to the vet next week to get spayed - after all, too many kitties in this world already.

This is pretty underwhelming compared to other coins in this thread, but it is the first clip I have ever seen on a 2009 cent, and I had basically given up on ever finding one.
My other favorite looks more at home here, I have to shout out @Wahoo554 again for connecting me with the former owner of this beauty.

Bought back in January and in doing so spent my coin budget (and more) for 2025. But still happy with the decision.

I recently showed my 1917 SLQ but this one is right up there for 2025 purchases:
My most significant acquisition for reaching my goals.

PCGS F12
Perhaps my best acquisition in terms of interesting toning, attractiveness, and price.

ANACS AU55
Top Pop 1 of 1 for this variety. The next best PCGS grade is a distant AU53. (There is an NGC MS61.)
And for now, it's the PCGS "plate" coin: https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1810-50c-overton-109a/39419
But eye appeal? In-hand, not so much -- especially the Reverse.

So many great coins in this thread! And a great variety too. The are some really drool worthy examples!
I'll double up the CBH's (just by chance I guess) ... but also want to say that she's a fine looking 10-109a @COCollector , despite your comment. She looks to have that dirty original(ish) look, and certainly seems to warrant the grade and CC1 designation for the DS.

I had a really hard time deciding what I felt was my best coin acquisition of 2025, as I was fortunate enough to land a few. But even with the auctions and the shows and all of the in-between, with some great values, decent cherry picks and even a great flip, this coin is probably the highlight of the entire 2025 haul.
I found it at David Kahn's table at last years Winter FUN show in January, so I've owned her almost the entire year. And of course, considering the source, I had to pay for it!
Oh, and fight for it ... because @Pnies20 was circling my shoulder like a vulture.
But I knew it when I bought her, and I've said it a few times since ... if every CBH I owned could look like this, I'd be in heaven. It's a look I really love. Even my images do not do her justice.

@Barberian . Absolute kudos on the 1878 half! I have been in the hunt for a nice one for 4 years now. james
I’m not sure I even believe that 1860 SLH is a real coin.
I can’t imagine I’d be able to produce a better looking example of that type even if you gave me all of the best AI tools on earth (which I’d have no idea how to use anyway).
Absolutely amazing coin.
This one is my favorite coin purchase for 2025

Mr_Spud
Best single item was this medal struck for politicians and dignitaries in recognition for the Confederation of Canada in 1867. 500 bronze were made, 50 silver, and one gold for Queen Victoria (whereabouts unknown). Purchased this raw, and had it graded at PCGS. At SP 66 it’s the finest known over the NGC graded examples by two grades. I think it’s better than 66, though.

It's not really my favorite coin of 2025, but it's the most expensive.
Picked these 2 up raw:
There are definitely more than a few "Holy Cr@p, Batman!" coins on this thread... this is one... As an early copper guy I recognize that these rarely come up for auction in this state... very nice!!
