We've been talking about computer grading for years. Has anyone else come across these yet?

Have not heard of or encountered.
There is a website (found from search AIGS coin grading).
On the webpage this is the attached 22 second :/ video (on YouTube) that says:
"Watch this short video that explains our process and what you can expect from us here at AIGS."

    https://youtu.be/S07QA8O6ZGo

Only see an email address on the webpage and the submission webpage states: :/
"Once we receive your order confirmation we will send you the mailing address via email to submit your coins for grading, or contact us by chat."

EDIT: Noticed the Youtube page for the video indicates 2K views 1 year ago (so not that new)

I wonder how well AI detects counterfeits, added mintmarks, old cleanings, artificial toning, tooling, puttying, whizzing, light polishing, thumbing, etc.

Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

Clearly trying to capitalize on AI hype.

Computers, AI, Hi-Resolution screens, XRF testing, measuring depths of imperfections and bag marks and other blemishes, etc. -- if they can all do in a few seconds what takes the human eye minutes to verify, it's worth it.

I think Ebay has answered this question fairly well.

    Because minutes matter!

AI is as good as the variables that are programmed into it.

There's no substitute for human instinctual awareness of physical things in person.
