You can request that Lincoln be face up when submitting a "Shield" reverse 1C coin.

    I did that last year(request face up) for a 2023 "V" coin...

I think that it comes with the First Strike & Gold Shields automatically, regardless of the value of the coin.

probably gold shield, but not first strike. both are first strike

My coins were also put with the reverse forward. Surely, they will put the "Obverse Forward" if requested. Right?

This is why I am getting so disillusioned with coin collecting...... On average, my boys & I are looking for 3-4 of each coin (P&D mints) each year just to keep our collections current. When one can't find even a single "circulating" coin for most denominations from 2024 (except some Womens Quarters), and several others (halves & dollars) are only available from the Mint, the fun is gone. And who knows if/when/how much $ the 2025's will be? And this is all just chasing modern clads. Given the choice of where to spend "moon money", it would be on silver or to fill semi-key or key holes before current circulation. It just takes all the fun out of what started as a youngster filling holes, and has never been in search of profit..... :(

I just bought two rolls of 2025-P and two rolls of 2025-D on eBay.

For $70 I'm going to just sit back, have some fun and watch the show develop.

Should be worth the price of admission, win or lose.

Got to have some skin in the game, right?

I'm seeing a great introduction/gateway to the world of U.S. coins for YN's.

    What do others think?

edited to add: I know, I know....didn't feel like dealing with the bank.

..Banks can be great resource .. bought 50 rolls of 2009 cents at face .. 16 years ago ..haven't the 2025s yet

Good luck if this is an investment. Nothing wrong with collecting what you like as well.

This may be the wrong forum to ask, I have two 2025 Lincoln Cents with what looks like a strike through error in the same place. Does anyone have a similar coin?

  • MsMorrisineMsMorrisine Posts: 34,530 ✭✭✭✭✭

    keep the two together

it's unusually well defined for a strike through. hmmmm

Were these 2 cents end coins or were they found in the wild/0ne of the 48 cents inside the OBW roll?

@JWP these were bought online as P & D mints, random. The seller may not have noticed what he’s got.

The Obvers look like the Coin rolling machine was working on the ring of death on each cent.

"Cent production and distribution costs have exceeded face value for several years."

Fiat dollars have far exceeded their face value since inception.

    Fixed.

Paper money eventually returns to its intrinsic value. Zero. Voltaire. Ebay coinbowlllc

In response to MsMorrisine, no, I am not getting full boxes from anywhere. I only get a few rolls of any denomination (usually mostly quarters) at a time, as I don't have really want to have to go to the other bank to dump so many in their coin counter. And I feel weird these days asking for even 2 rolls of pennies, as WHO uses/needs that many cents these days? I don't really advertise that I'm a collector. So it's usually by trades, luck, family/friends near Denver banks, or relatively new change received from WaWa stores these days. Especially since most purchases are by credit card. Just not like the old days, unfortunately.....
