New Addition to my Flying Eagle Set

This 1858LL FEC finishes my 4 coin date set of this short lived “experiment “ of the first small cents. Purchased at a local coin show in my area with a small venue of perhaps 15 dealers, but very well attended. As Billjones has pointed out in an earlier post, these seem to be getting more difficult to acquire in the mid- grade range of MS64 that are not overpriced or inaccurately graded. For me, this example fits the bill. I just love this eagle design! Zack

@Copperindian, thanks Ken.
Nice example. Always loved the flyer.
Super nice example! I always loved the FE design. I wish it had had a 20-30 year run.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. This was one of a group of new coin purchases for 2025. Hoping this year will continue to be as productive as it began. Zack.
What does that mean? Were you at the show looking at this coin too? I was at this dealers table for quite some time and no one else for the time I was there, asked to see this coin, so how did I beat you to it?Zack. Plus, I bought it within the first few minutes I was there.
Why the hostile tone? It was only a quip. I never saw this piece.
I went all over the FUN bourse, especially on Friday, and none of the MS-64 graded pieces worked as well as the MS-65s and 66s. It was slim pickings and high prices.
I thought Bill was being gracious. You found a coin that he would have loved to find.
No malice intended.
Love the flying Eagle design. Does anyone know why they stopped making it after three years (including the 56)
The coin seems nice for the grade. But this thread illustrates the problem with examining coins from their images only.
The obverse of the top image seems properly lighted and exposed, and shows an obverse with slightly too much chatter for an MS 65 grade. Its reverse seems to be between 1/2 to 3/4 f stop overexposed, so I can't see as much detail as I would like to see.
The obverse of the second photo is a good f stop overexposed and doesn't show the chatter of the first pic. And it highlights some uneven toning between 2:00 and 3:00 that is not shown in the first pic. The reverse is more than one f stop overexposed, and you can't see much, if any detail.
As the OP purchased the coin sight seen, he was able to see what I am writing about above.

@Elcontador, thanks for your photographic analysis, but these pics were done from my Apple 11 cell. Best I could do. Zack.
