So this high volume ebay crappy raw coin dealer has a fairly obvious (to experienced collectors) fake 09-S VDB - the “S” is misshapen and the “N” in “united” is not correct. I tried to report it but the idiotic AI says it is ok - is there a way to get a human to remove this listing?

the new report flow starts with the " ? " in the lower right
I'm reporting, but want to ask what choices everyone is using. i select "counterfeit bullion" as it's the only one with "counterfeit" in it
is there something better?
Ok I tried the new report flow as well. We will see what happens.

"Hi, this is an authentic Coin. Thank you for reaching out, have a great evening"

Maybe the best thing to do is write your Congresssman and have him/her introduce a bill to change the Constitution to prevent ebay from selling fake coins. Cradle to grave.

Does eBay’s AI “authentic “ cause them liability even with an inaccurate assessment?
ebay's ai "response messages" (mindless templates) do not mention authenticity
they merely state if something is in violation of policy.
the law gives them a great deal of protection as a medium of information exchange and product exchange facilitator, they are not a store or publisher. in the good ol days of the web the idea behind the law is to treat them like a grocery store bulletin board which people can post all sorts of anything
it certainly should
The easy solution is: Don't use ebay.
Hello...
Todd Rundgren?
That is an easy solution for you but it doesn't help the person who has bid the coin up to $1136
most coin on ebay are real
most listing aren't scams or are borderline unethical
there is a scourge of counterfeits that seem to be coming from outsiide the country and there are some that have them and either know it or not then put them up
there are truly great counterfeits out there but the required photo sizes from ebay are sometimes not good enough to be 100% certain.
then there are the obvious counterfeits that can be reported with 100% certainty -- like this one -- and we try to get them nuked
"That is an easy solution for you but it doesn't help the person who has bid the coin up to $1136 ****"
Don't be a rube... ebay allows you to cancel a bid. If you don't know what you're bidding on then maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't be bidding. Cradle to grave.
"Todd Rundgren?"
No. LOL -- Great musician.
The high bidder is a shill.
Total bids with seller 107 , Items bid on 16 , Bid activity with this seller 100%
don't see a way to report shills in the new flow, but used the old way
in the new reporting flow, i finally saw "replica coins and currency" - i'd still like to see the word counterfeit in there
Or could be a forum member using a throw-away ebay account.
