the new report flow starts with the " ? " in the lower right

I'm reporting, but want to ask what choices everyone is using. i select "counterfeit bullion" as it's the only one with "counterfeit" in it

    is there something better?

Maybe the best thing to do is write your Congresssman and have him/her introduce a bill to change the Constitution to prevent ebay from selling fake coins. Cradle to grave.

Does eBay’s AI “authentic “ cause them liability even with an inaccurate assessment?

    AUCTION KINGS RARE COINS

ebay's ai "response messages" (mindless templates) do not mention authenticity

they merely state if something is in violation of policy.

the law gives them a great deal of protection as a medium of information exchange and product exchange facilitator, they are not a store or publisher. in the good ol days of the web the idea behind the law is to treat them like a grocery store bulletin board which people can post all sorts of anything

    Hello...

That is an easy solution for you but it doesn't help the person who has bid the coin up to $1136 :/

most coin on ebay are real

most listing aren't scams or are borderline unethical

there is a scourge of counterfeits that seem to be coming from outsiide the country and there are some that have them and either know it or not then put them up

there are truly great counterfeits out there but the required photo sizes from ebay are sometimes not good enough to be 100% certain.

then there are the obvious counterfeits that can be reported with 100% certainty -- like this one -- and we try to get them nuked

Don't be a rube... ebay allows you to cancel a bid. If you don't know what you're bidding on then maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't be bidding. Cradle to grave.

The high bidder is a shill.
Total bids with seller 107 , Items bid on 16 , Bid activity with this seller 100%

don't see a way to report shills in the new flow, but used the old way

in the new reporting flow, i finally saw "replica coins and currency" - i'd still like to see the word counterfeit in there

He may have gotten nervous and removed it preemptively since he knew eBay would remove it. In any event, don't be surprised if it shows up again on eBay in a few weeks with a low BIN price so some bargain hunter will snatch it up before anyone has a chance to report it to eBay.

Nobody else posted the picture of it. It's always good to see what "bad" looks like. The best give away is the weak portrait combined with the high rims.

The reply I got from my report to ebay.
"We looked into your report and didn’t find the listing to be in violation of our policy. This determination was made using automation or artificial intelligence."

It is showing as removed by ebay on my end and not ended by the seller.
It appears ebay may have gotten enough reports about it that they removed it.

When you see the “We looked everywhere” statement, it means it was removed by eBay.
If the seller had removed it himself, the photo would still be up with something like
“ This has removed do to an error in the listing” written across it.

They almost all argue that their fake coin is genuine or was taken to two dealers and was told it was genuine.
