Hello, I have this 1818 Capped bust half dollar shown in the photos below. I need to know the Overton number. Late die state, I guess. This could be the last coin struck with this die pair of dies. Thanks in advance for any info you have for me!

I vote 104a. The dot under RI in America is there.
Here is the late die state example from the Die State Progress booklet.

Thanks lilolme! The die crack connecting all the stars on the left is on my example shown above. I am sure you are correct it is a late die state 104a.Yes that is it!
I concur with 104a. You can also see the 3 joined dentils on the reverse!

@rec78 Yes, the cracks through the right side stars is in the latest of die states noted.
The die state booklet notes for 104.3 (the latest that is noted):
Additional die crack obverse from edge above cap through right stars
In this link it is noted as 104b as:
O-104 'b': Heavy crack at star 7, with an additional crack from star 8 through star 13.

Meets the requirements for the 104a, good job.

Ugh…I am the lone wolf here…I believe it is a 104b because “Heavy crack at star 7, with an additional crack from star 8 through star 13.” That crack from star 8 to star 13 is the clincher for me to be a 104b.
Not sure why you would say you are the lone wolf here. In my first post I noted the 104a as my edition of the Overton states (It does not distinguish further). Then when rec78 asked about the star cracks, I added that it is the latest noted die state of 104.3 in the die state progression booklet and that the link provided called it a 104b. I even typed out what designates this.

Great 1818 bestie and excellent pics
XF ?
nice coin. i like them as well
I LOVE crack, and this is a GREAT Die Marriage and Die State IMO.
It's a 104a, of the latest state (crack from edge above cap through right stars).
Overton never listed a 'b' state, regardless of what certain sites say.
Die State is 104.3 which we (BHNC) currently show as a r.5?

I have wondered if the website owner could change their additional lettering from in this case a 'b' to say an 'x'. Where the 'x' is denoting extra or extended die cracking beyond the last noted Overton letter (in this case 'a'). That would help to clear up some confusion I think that these are not Overton letters. Above, I tried to identify that.
On the extra letters that the website denotes beyond the last noted Overton letter, they seem to agree with information in the die state progression booklet for the several, which is not that much, that I have looked at.
Has the Overton book added many additional letter die stages to the book from the 3rd edition to the 5th edition?
I guess I could just find and get a 5th but...... that has not happened........ yet.
