Won this at Mile High been bidding on these in 4s and 5s anytime one comes up without absolutely atrocious centering. Finally won this one - for those who don’t know the card the centering although not perfect by any means is better than 80% of them. Actual centered copies go for crazy $ in any grade when they come up. I bid more on a centered 4 and lost about a year ago. To me this is the greatest Topps rookie being the last card in the set and single printed. 51 Bowman is the Mantle and Mays rookie so have never considered their ‘52s as rookies. Loved the registration and proud to be adding this one.
I still can't believe that Lofton fell off the BBWAA ballot after one year, not even getting a 2nd year on the HOF ballot. 6x All Star, 4x Gold Glove, 5x AL Stolen Base Leader, Cleveland Guardians HOF. Kenny's only 1991 base rookie card.
An update to my Griffey Basic Set. Now at 213 out of 221.

Well not a new pickup, but I’m a bachelor this week and am picking through 5k count boxes. I have probably ripped 200 boxes of opc baseball and hockey the past decade, 84-2008, and mostly just sorted them away save for the big rooks.
The two 84 packs are Ryan and Straw back, the leaf pack is Ryan.

Many boxes to go
I have always loved the 1984 Topps/OPC Strawberry RC. It was the first baseball card I coveted as a kid. Nice photo of your loot!
These two Bobby’s just arrived. The kid is already breaking a few Royals single season records. 88 extra base hits and 368 total bases and counting. Both team records. I’m using PSA photos because they are much better than mine.
"Irish" Micky Ward, The pride of Lowell Massachusetts, one of the best body punchers in boxing history, guys hated fighting him because he was always throwing that left hook into your ribcage and it hurt like heck.

For my money (plenty of which was wasted on 30 second Tyson fights 🤣), the fights between Arturo Gatti and Mickey Ward were the best series of rematched fights in the last 30 years. Each was more entertaining and hard fought than the last and they were both class fighters who hugged and respected one another when the fights ended.
And as pugilists, these two incredibly tough men were both solid technical boxers that could also do just fine in a bout that was not decided by technique. 😉
RIP, Arturo.

Loved watching both of those guys, Two warriors, and their series was thrilling, they really brought out the best in eachother. 👍
Fantastic pickups! Brett's "old man" autograph fits right in with the modern player's effort, but I miss the old iconic "Gegr Butt".
It's interesting to me that Brett hasn't signed with a legible B in his autograph for a number of years, and yet I saw this 2024 autograph on eBay this morning. Somebody must have given him crap about people thinking he was signing his stuff as "George Witt". Lol

Not an easy “first” card to find. Note the lack of a “Danone” logo on the back which is how to know these Quebec Pee Wee cards are original - this one from 1998 vs a reprint put out years later in packs containing those who became NHL’ers by Danone (Canadian name of USA Dannon yogurt brand)

Great pick up. The original 1998 cards are tough to find for the big names.

Picked up a pair of Cubs this week.
Sent this in for a friend who collects Yankees. Outstanding color.
Picked this one up in the Mile High auction last night to add to my Bench rookie collection.
Nice pickup, Keith! Beautiful centering…
Hiya Keith
I'm really liking this one. Looks like a 9 to me. As Monte said - the centering is sweet and not easy to find IMO.
Congratulations on your pickup buddy.
Beautiful, Keith!
Andy
Beautiful Bench congrats!

Congrats, Brad! That is a beautiful Eddie Mathews RC with exceptional centering for the issue.

Totally agree. Very underrated player.
I bought this a week ago. Glad I pulled the trigger and didn't wait until this week.

Agreed! He’s taking a big cut, loved that player as a kid.
A recent purchase that I had graded by SGC. PSA won't grade these.
I was able to add a couple of cards to my 1981 topps George Brett set.
I rip a few Pop Century boxes every year, Pulled a nice dual 1x1 of Richie Cunningham
2004 spx
1989 topps psa 10
1959 phillies
Phillies of the 70's
just keep finding more shiny cardboard......
I was very pleased to find this Jonny U. Nice looking mid-grade example.
Wow...That's a killer 5!
Excellent find.

Two more fun Mickey’s for the collection; the PC is highest graded.

Two new Pucketts, patience paid off for me, refusing to spend big money on these when I first saw them as BIN'S.
A few came up for auction at the same time and I got them both for a great price.
New to T206 collecting, picked these up over the weekend.
Hope in a week I have a 3x batting champion with this one.
This popped today. Not a crazy-high grade, but I think pretty good considering the year and that it's OPC.
Great pick up. The original 1998 cards are tough to find for the big names.
grades popped yesterday for my latest submission - here's my trio of "out of 50".
My cards on COMC
Checked the back and it is not the error version.
