Hi at 86 just trying to finish up a Lincoln cent album just missing a couple of coins this being one. the question I have would this coin make grade. I have missed the last 2 I have sent in for grading because the coins were cleaned. I do not understand the process you use to tell. I have noticed over the last couple of years I don't retain information I read very long. please don't be to hard on me. thanks Gary - clear

You got me. I have a similar problem in that I sent a Morgan in for grading and they said it was "harshly cleaned" So it got no grade
Thanks for your input gary
My impression is that it has been cleaned and possibly whizzed.

What does whizzed mean?
Whizzed coins are mechanically processed using a rotating metal brush in order to impart a false luster onto the coin. When done well, the coins can be quite deceptive if you are unsure what to look for.

Don't fell like you are alone in the cleaned/detail coinn grade. It seems like I have at least 2 coins that come back clean/details every submission I send in. i sometimes wonder if sending in older coins versus new US mint is worth it. Oh well, I still want to get some older coins graded - just don't like the graders decision a lot of the time.
