I wonder which Topps product they are going to cut it up and insert into?

I hope that isn't the case.

How exactly can they be SURE they're sure that is indeed the one and only called shot jersey?

They SURE do like the number of zeroes on the check.

I've been able to photomatch a bunch of hockey jerseys and a number of NBA jerseys. Of course it is much easier with the number of photos and video now. Not sure how many photos exist of the Ruth but I would need 100% concrete proof if I had 30 million to spend.

For an item like that Ruth jersey, as a buyer I'd crave provenance over subjective photo matching. The New York Times/Athletic today ran an article on how one service chose not to match it, but others did. One that did was also chagrined in the past on that Jordan jersey debacle.

Not a good time for that Athletic article to come out.

I steer clear of game used memorabilia and autographs…too hard to authenticate.

"On Wednesday, Heritage Auctions filed the lawsuit with four causes of action. They are defamation, business disparagement, intentional interference with contractual relations and intentional interference with prospective economic relations.

A statement to the AJC from Heritage Auctions reads: “We do not comment on pending legal matters. However, Heritage Auctions prides itself on transparency and authenticity and stands behind every item we offer at auction.”

A statement to the AJC from a Braves spokesman read: “We intend to vigorously defend the ownership of our property in a court of law and will not be issuing any further statements as this is an ongoing legal matter.” The lawsuit contends the Braves are damaging Heritage’s reputation for honesty and integrity in selling authentic items."

Did you happen to see what the PSA 10 Henderson went for? In my email this morning it showed up as $150K.

Nice sell for someone out there.

Initially...I failed to see the black print line across Allen's forehead and part of bill of his cap. Others/bidders must have missed it too including the grader. I checked my PSA-8.5...and mine does not have it. If you cannot see it...click on link below for a zoom in.

It sits at $23,400 including buyer's premium...and closes tonight (8/25).

You mean Allen's forehead and hat.... It's an old flip, so probably would have been a 10 without the lines!
