In a weird way I'm a little jealous that you got to use your generator. Other than the weekly test cycles I haven't needed it once since I put it in 5 years ago. Glad it wasn't related to the recent storms and you're doin good.

What kind of generator do you have? Standby or portable?

Standby. It's a Generac whole home (22kW). Supposedly it's pretty nice, but I wouldn't know because we haven't had any power outages since it's been installed.

I have the same exact model. Had ours installed in 2020. This thing has been a godsend here in Florida especially during summer storm season. Is yours natural gas or propane? And by the way, you are super fortunate to have had no significant power outages in 5 years.

Natural Gas. And you're right - I should be thankful that we haven't needed it. I'm glad you've been happy with yours. We had an ice storm where we lost power for 3 days over Christmas one year and we lost power for 4 days during a very hot summer and the pool was a mess for a couple weeks... my wife talked me into it and since then... not even a blip.

Very wise purchase. We have no natural gas hookup where I am, so we had a 500-gal propane tank buried not far from the generator. Even with the occasional outages we have here we have not had to refill it yet. It stays at 80 to 90% when it's full, the reason not 100% is that propane expands. After 5 years we are a tick below 80%. So glad we got one.

That's a nice-looking property Groce, how many acres? What brand riding mower do you use for that? Is NIPSCO the electric provider there?

    Landry asks:

    how many acres? 5

What brand riding mower do you use for that? I had 2 Deere's...I don't think that I was ever Sober on either one...My dad has some Orange one not really too sure on that part...Me & machinery don't really get along...

Is NIPSCO the electric provider there? Yes

Groce the humidity here is lower than up in that Amish country. Mark this day on your calendar, you may not see that again this year. lol
