Don't you just laugh when people who have never lived in the Arizona heat say: "but ity a dry heat". 112 is 112 no matter how you cut it.
100 degrees and 4% humidity is pleasant with a decent cool down when the sun sets. Get over 107 or so, it becomes hellish.
I mentioned to friends who have never visited the "Valley of the Sun," that some houses/apartments have fireplaces. They responded why, it's so hot there already.

It's dry for part of the year. 90° with low humidity isn't bad. Anything over 100 can be unbearable because often there are no clouds to give you relief from the sun.
What you never hear about is dust storm season and monsoon season. Add these with 5+ months of brutal heat 🥵 and you might get 4 months of very pleasant weather.
When I first visited AZ, my buddy let me use his car one day. He instructed me not to park it with the windows rolled up tight or the heat might blow out the windshield!
I'll take the 4 months of snow and 2 months of real cold weather in Minnesota over Arizona any day!

You can't call it cold unless you have multiple days in a row where you're never above zero. Here are temps for the next few days for Fargo ND (high/low). These are actual temps; wind chills are expected to be in the range of -20 to -40 below zero and approaching -50 north of here.

Hey Groce, just seeing this. Wish I had some connections up there, I would make some calls for you. What is the ETA of your restoration? Is your property/family ok?
In a weird way I'm a little jealous that you got to use your generator. Other than the weekly test cycles I haven't needed it once since I put it in 5 years ago. Glad it wasn't related to the recent storms and you're doin good.

What kind of generator do you have? Standby or portable?

Standby. It's a Generac whole home (22kW). Supposedly it's pretty nice, but I wouldn't know because we haven't had any power outages since it's been installed.
I have the same exact model. Had ours installed in 2020. This thing has been a godsend here in Florida especially during summer storm season. Is yours natural gas or propane? And by the way, you are super fortunate to have had no significant power outages in 5 years.

@LandrysFedora
There was very little snow falling today as with some rain... Nothing to get excited about...the weather here seemed cool & normal...
Then around 6:30-ish 7-ish I went downstairs to put the TV on and went to warm a coffee in the microwave...
There was no rain, no thunder, no lightning, I didn't hear any crashes or anything like that...
My TV went Blank and I thought the TV took a shit...and I heard that the microwave stopped...
Hey we're Outta Power...
That's when it was time for the generator...
As of now, from what I can gather...I should be back on Real Power within the next 2 hours...
In a weird way I'm a little jealous that you got to use your generator. Other than the weekly test cycles I haven't needed it once since I put it in 5 years ago. Glad it wasn't related to the recent storms and you're doin good.
I'm All Good...👍🔌👍🔌👍🔌

The only negative thing I can say about Generator Power is:
The ceiling fans seem to run a little noisy...
1 thing that I try not to do while going with Gererator Power is to use any of my hard wired computers...
I'm Deathly Afraid of Frying Out the Motherboard's...
Other than that it's Just Like Having Real Power...
