I recently acquired this coin. Care to guess the PCGS grade? I'll reveal in ~24 hours. (edit: grade revealed in comment)

Any and all comments on the coin are also welcome, except from Cougar.

Having fun while switching things up and focusing on a next level PCGS slabbed 1950+ type set, while still looking for great examples for the 7070.

Looks like a gem to me, some chatter and tics that are not enough to knock it down much in grade.

Interesting and I’m not really surprised.
I could see the light rub, but I thought for sure given it was a pretty clean overall coin it’d net out at 61, maybe 62. Now that I see these other photos a lot more hits are apparent. Still think it’s a nice coin.

@P0CKETCHANGE - are you happy with it and what you paid for it? If so, that’s all that matters in the end my brother!

If I saw the last set of photos first I would have guessed au58ish, prior to that from viewing the TV which are a oil painting of optimism I would guessed 63ish. Another great thread proving one cannot accurately grade from a photo

100%. I used to view TVs as the best, most ideal image of a coin. Nowadays I don’t know what to make of them and TVs tend to lead to more questions than answers. 😔

You see wear? I don't. Where on the coin do you see wear from circulation?

Eagle's eyebrow. I had thought it to be toning in the first picture. It is really a high end coin with potential for a MS grade.

The TV highlights the slight wear on the eagle's breast, which was not so clear in the first pic.

Flying Eagle cents don’t receive color designations. Neither do 1859-1864 Copper Nickel cents.
