I'm really looking forward to the Wednesday tilt between the 76ers and the Bucks. Not a lot of media attention given to the new point guard the Sixers picked up, but I'm curious to see what he can do once the bright lights are shining on him.

Well, he'd fit in perfectly next to Joel Embiid & Paul George on the All-I.R. First Team. 😉

The Lakers have a new player, last name is Knecht. I watched him play in the Laker’s last two games. He is a baller, shows no fear and can light it up from anywhere.

Last night he hit a long distance 3 over the outstretched arms of Bol Bol with four seconds to go to tie the game against the Suns.

I looked at news reports of last night's game. Dalton Knecht, drafted at #17, scored 35 points last night including 20 straight points in the 4th quarter and overtime to lead the Lakers to a win over the Suns.

    Look out for him.

Sanction, he was considered one of the few players in this past draft that should be able to contribute right from the start, he can definitely shoot the ball.

Say what you will about LA's hiring of JJ Redick as head coach but the one positive aspect that everyone should be able to see from the Lakers this season is, he'll find ways to get Austin Reaves & Knecht plenty of open looks from three. Both players are sort of cut from the same mold as Redick was, its going to be interesting see is his head coaching skills can equate to wins.

After watching a few minutes of the 4th quarter in last nights Laker game against the Suns (including Knecht's game tying 3 with 4 second left that forced overtime) it just jumped out at me that Knecht is one of those players that has "it". He exudes confidence, swagger and attitude that conveys a message of I Am Going To Kick Your Behind And You Can Do Nothing To Prevent It!!!

If what I saw last night is an indicator of how he will perform in the regular season he will be up for the All Rookie Team.

This draft class really doesn't have that one or two players that are clearly above the rest of the pack like Wemby, Paolo, Ja & Luka have stood out during their rookie years over the past 5-6 seasons so he would have as good a shot as any to win ROY.

The top two picks, Risacher & Sarr are both just 19yrs old and on terrible teams. Reed Sheppard the 3rd pick and likely overall favorite for the award could possibly end up somewhat low on the Rockets pecking order especially with Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green heading into contract seasons. Stephon Castle would have been my favorite to win but he's now behind CP3 on the Spurs PG depth chart. That really leaves, imo, Zach Edey & Knecht as two that may have a real good chance of winning ROY when they're both likely to see plenty of minutes this season.

For some reason Knecht did not play in last nights Lakers v. Warriors game in SF.

The Lakers played the third and fourth unit players last night. The Warriors played many of their first and second unit players. The result was a 58 point Warrior blow out win (132-74).

I think the Warriors will be a better team this year than last year. They have new players that signed with the club that are very versatile on offense and on defense. Kuminga, Moody, Pods and Jackson-Davis look to be ready to play heavy minutes.

The Western Conference is very deep this year and there should be some very good games played in the 2024-2025 season.

How is the Eastern Conference shaping up for 2024-2025?

Don't tell me it's starting already with the Cavs:

Sanction, I watched the 2nd half of that GS/LA game and, as expected, it was a total Bronny slobberfest by the two guys calling the game. They must have mentioned he had a "career high" for points in a game at least 20 times.

I'm not sure how I feel about GS being better than last season's team or not. They moved on from two high IQ players in Klay & CP3 but they did get younger while saving some tax money. Klay has been one of the best #2 (or 1A) scoring options on any team for years and while Buddy Hield may replace some of his 3pt shooting, I don't think he's the same caliber of player that Klay has been (even his 23-24 version.) Hield's defense has been pretty meh over the years. The Dubs offense will miss Chris Paul's playmaking off the bench (led the team in APG & Ast/TO) but if De'Anthony Melton's back issues are no longer a problem, he'll be a decent 3&D wing that should fit next to Steph.

I think their season will really come down to whether or not their younger players (Kuminga/Moody/Podz/TJD) can each take that next step in their development. Kuminga thinks he's worth more than 30+M/yr and the GS front office wants to see him play at an All-Star level before paying him like one.

I could see a scenario where the Warriors improve their win total but it may not mean much in the standings because of how deep the West is. Many of the teams around them in the standings (SAC/PHO/NOP/MEM/HOU) have all looked like their rosters have improved just as much as GS has.

In the East, I still think its Boston clearly above that 2nd tier of NY, MIL, PHI, CLE and Indy. Just looking at each team and their health problems both past & present...
NY already has two centers that will miss the start of the season in Robinson (out until Dec/Jan) and Achiuwa (hamstring issue) and KAT who seems to get hurt and miss time every season.
Philly will be without both Embiid & Paul George for, at least, their first 4-5 games both with knee issues.
Milwaukee has Khris Middleton who is still rehabbing from surgeries on both ankles while Giannis & Dame both have had injury problems in their recent history
Cleveland has been snakebit more than any other teams when it comes to players getting hurt in recent years and as Steven just pointed out,its already starting again.
Indy is currently close to full health with their main rotation but their best player, Tyrese Haliburton, has a body-type that tends to lead to many injuries.

The Celtics will be without Kristaps Porzingis to start the season but he's far ahead of schedule of his previous expected return time (Dec/Jan) and they're deep enough to not miss a beat when someone goes down.

Its great that the season is finally kicking off tonight and with it being Ring Night for the C's it should make for a great atmosphere inside the arena.
