The ebay link no longer shows the listing, so it appears ebay may have canceled the sale and nuked the listing.
Coin was sold.
Yeah it was sold but the link should show it as a completed listing. The listing appears to have been poofed.
Posters in the know are being cryptic. eBay indicates it was “removed for policy violation”. Maybe the sale was done outside of eBay with a buyer that was aware of its questionable authenticity and this thread.

EBay will remove a listing even after it sells.
I assumed in those cases that the transaction, if completed, was also canceled? Maybe not.

Yes and no. In my limited experience they remove themselves from the transaction but if it already shipped they probably let it go and just reimbursed the buyer themselves.
I spoke with my boss, @ANACSPAUL about this today. We are in touch with the owner of the coin, as it is covered by our guarantee. I'll post updates here as I get them, if JP doesn't beat me to it.

OK, back from my local coin shop; XRF indicate definitely not a US mint product but made of "German silver" with approx 58% copper, 27% nickel and 14% zinc...

Any updates on this coin? How is value determined for this unique item amount insured for purchased price or something else?

Research turned up a 2nd one from a 2006 auction; different coin, but a couple of evident common circulation marks.
This exact coin was actually brought up in a thread back in 2018 by koynekwest about halfway down the first page:

I should have the coin in-hand Monday- other than taking it to my LCS for an XRF scan what else would folks like to see?
???????????? what is the real story here.

I'd place the value of it being a counterfeit at or above what the bidder paid.
peacockcoins
probably right weight and diameter and thickness, but i'd check those.... but I think anacs would like it un-cracked out
interesting there's no corresponding weakness of details on the obverse opposite "the cud"
The zinc level from the XRF most interests me.
Likely a contemporary counterfeit, but hats off as other potentially legitimate rarities posted on here don't seem to warrant such an examination.
Looking forward to the results.
I'll post updates when in hand.
