Always great to see errors on gold!
Two nice PCGS coins without TrueViews. So what can one do? Get Great Photos from @PhilArnold!
Of course, TrueViews are nice when they are had! Here's a Mankiller quarter which is a struck-through grease error on a shattered die / retained cud variety.

Here is a small struck through that I discovered while preparing a submission of Daniel Carr edge-lettered coins for ANACS.
I never noticed it prior to sending it to DCarr years ago to be edge-lettered with my requested "KILROY WAS HERE" text. I'll pay the $12 extra to have ANACS add the error to the label.
Had this mint set for years and didn't know I had it.

Gold error coins are very hard to find especially those non-intentional Mint Error.
Non-intentional gold error coins are very rare, but seem to be much more common than intentional gold error coins, at least from a relative perspective.
Those coins Photos are very good. Beautiful coins.
Looks like struck thru something. Not sure, you tell me.

I know struck through grease errors are common on steel cents, but I figured I'd share

That's a very nice article by our own CTF with great examples and photos!
I'm also partial to this "1861" Buffalo Quarter

I think I opened a beer and the carbonation caused it to get on the holder.
Here, hold my beer while I take pictures of my coins! 🤣 😂

Found in a mint roll
Wow, that's a great coin and a great find! Love the snowboarding motif created and popularized in Vermont!
Do you have a name for this? Perhaps something like the Extra Glove error?
😆
That reminds me of "Pitting". Usually on Morgans.
Very odd that there are fragments?

Your post reminds me of a modern mint set, I bought last year with a sealed "S.T." coin, inside the cellophane!
I think it's a 2021 or 2022 Jefferson?
I'll post when I find it.
Thanks

My first thought was struck thru but I believe others said it might be lamination or delamination.

If the object that was struck through remains embedded in the coin, is it still a "strike-through" error or is it called something else ?
David, in the past I’ve use the term “retained struck thru”

I respectfully disagree. I think this is a retained strike through. Probably copper debris
Okay, thanks for that. Be careful, don't peel it off.

,
I guess it could be a lamination. Doesn't look like it to me. I could be wrong
My mistake. I would say that the 54 is maybe a dual error. The area in question is a retained struck thru copper debris on the edge and there is a retained cud on the reverse
@Oakstar It'll be interesting to see what the tpg says whenever I get around to it. Probably won't be how I described it
BTW nice struck through struck fragment on the 23 S
Years ago via Gallery Mint's generosity, Ron & Joe executed my hand drawn "Special Orders" circa 1996.
For me these are fun to perfectly mate & separate as they remain raw.
Large 1c Struck thru a Flipped Over Mercury Dime. I made 2 of these sets using this die pair, one set I gifted to Fred Weinberg long ago.
I think it's a struck thru.

What's the official explanation on this one?
