Chip games are a bit different, because people will play almost any hand, at least to the flop and everyone (usually) slow-plays big hands.

When I am in Vegas you'll find me in the high-stakes room at the Mohegan Sun playing blackjack when I have time. I like the atmosphere in there. Quiet and they don't seem to care as you alter your betting through the shoe, but you can't add more hands in the middle of the shoe. I prefer to be the only player at the table.

When you play blackjack do you use a system?

    Good luck at the tables!

I remember the first straight flush I ever hit. I recall it was also diamonds, but 3 to 7. This was in five card draw. Just nickel, dime and quarter poker, but winning say $5 for the session wasn't bad back then. I hit it playing at the library.

Funny, during study hall in high school, us "regulars" would have a poker game in the library. It was at a table in the far back of the library, sort of well hidden, and the librarian never came out from behind her check-out counter in the front. We of course kept quiet during the game. It was mostly guys from the football team, and believe me, nobody was going to report us - LOL

Casinos will allow you to Martingale your betting, just as long as you don't go over the table maximum bet, and of course you must make the minimum bet.

The "more hands" thing may vary from casino to casino. Could be depending on how busy they are, etc.

I used to play the Knock Out system, but that was some time ago, like back in the late 80s, early 90s. I was once RFB at the Mirage. I tend to befriend the pit and am always nice to the dealers, I don't toke very much, but sometimes toss a green when I color up if I've done well, NEVER tip when I'm losing. If (and it has happened on more than one occasion) if the dealer has an attitude, barely grunts or appears to hate being there, I wouldn't toke if I won thousands. I only play at a $25-$50 table. I'm beyond over the bed wetters who scream or get crazy excited when they hit a snapper with a whopping $5 bet out.
Not snobby, but just can't play with the ploppies.

I now play a rock solid basic strategy. Sadly, I'm stuck with Harrah's Cherokee casino, about a 6 hr R/T drive. At least it's kinda scenic, but that's all. They don't offer surrender, but it's either play or stay home. I don't go very often, I take "x" and when "x" is either doubled or lost, I'm gone. I've found limiting exposure is the best way to go, chasing losses is crazy.

Spent some nice time at Beau Rivage in Biloxi. A very nice place and they offer surrender...avoid this place on the weekends, crowded and the limits go up.

    GL on the baize!!

Nothing worse than some loser with little money in his pocket, sitting down at third base and messing up the shoe. 😒

'Most racehorses are 2-4 years old, are used until they are broken and are abandoned or killed at the age of 3'

This sentence wins the 'Most Ignorant Statement Of The Decade' award. We have a winner!

Preakness favorite Muth is out. Spiked a fever. Puts Mystic Dan in the favorite spot. Baffert still has Imagination going. 8 runners left in field.
