Name That Toner - Tune
Anyone have any toned coins with a nickname?
Let's see them with their nickname.
I don't have any named, but made some names up and themed them around music (imagine that). The nickname generally made up from potential type of toning and as noted with a music qualifier.
I keep thinking I need to thin the herd some more. So I thought I would take a few photos of some and try to get something out of the herd. Maybe a little entertainment - .
Now when I say photos and with this 'focus' on photos on this forum I need to put in my usual disclaimer:
I am not a photographer, not even an amateur one, just my now 20+ year old snap-o'matic.
((I got these 5K bulbs because I thought they might be better for toning. But then took the photos with the regular incandescent bulbs and old setup and in general thought those might be better and what I used below. Need to figure out those 5K but.....))

I call this one "Black Beauty", which I think is a term @Fairlaneman uses for his Mercurys w/similar dark toning.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
I haven’t named it, but it reminds me of watercolors

I call this one "dark side of the moon"
I think that coin’s too colorful and not dark enough to merit a “black beauty” label. So it fails on two counts.😉

I’m unaware of any official criteria for the Black Beauty designation, but if I had a sheet of “BB” stickers printed up, this is the first slab upon which I’d affix one. As you know, the lighting used for the TrueView is often bright and brings out color and tone that may not be evident in-hand.

How about calling this, You-Two ?

Give me a name as I don't have one for this 1925 Purple toner.
.
In the music theme I think of Purple Haze (of course).
But actually thought of Purple Passion (a drink and/or flower) first.
Now if one wanted something a little different or off, then maybe Barney (that PBS kids character).
