I had a fun gambling experience recently.. tried to buy a tough overton from a(huge bullion exchange).
Opening the package was so exciting!
I didn't win, but it was really great anyway!
( could one possibly SNAD a VB if purchased on EB? ) 🤔

People get excited over lots of things, even US Mint releases.
USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
Not reading through 4 pages but jmo, vaultbox is a success for investors/owners of vaultbox. The majority of "players" are unsuccessful in what amounts to getting lucky.
The house always wins.
It is kind of ironic that the U.S mint and countless authors use the strike it rich from pocket change mentality to draw in collectors. The coin section of most booksellers are mostly these types of books. W quarters seeded into the population. Manufactured rarities from the mint. But Vaultbox is now corrupting our youth and I think it might create a black hole and suck all the planets in. We’re doomed!!!
People absolutely have fun with vaultbox and all the gambling in Whatnot. And some people absolutely make out. If you can’t afford to lose the money spent, don’t gamble.
And there are a ton of threads on this forum about topics I don’t like or care about. I usually just don’t open them.
I do think that a box with nothing but ancients is going to be a flop. But hey, at least it will give some people on here a reason to come back and tell us all how right they were.
Vaultbox corrupting youth? Lol I don't know about all that. If a kid tells their parents they want vaultbox as a gift or if some teenager worked retail to buy for themselves, then who cares?
Any kind of investing is a gamble. Just don't blow the whole wad when the rent is due.
LOL, have you taken a poll so you can make this claim? How many return buyers vs. how many that say, okay I have been burned and won't do this again? Until you do a poll with a statistically valid amount of buyers, you cannot say this. Period.
That said, where has it been documented “over and over” that “some have more than an equal chance”? I saw one potential example during the first release where an influencer opened a red core prior to release - which VB explained subsequently. I’ve seen no other instances that would indicate that the prizes are not random.
It’s a serious accusation and I think evidence should be provided.
Frankly, the unsubstantiated accusations against various companies on this forum lately have become tiresome. Accusations need to be supported with evidence.
I just wrote a detailed post to back up claims you state above (including links to document it) from others including me, but I fear it would violate PCGS boards rules. So nope, ain't worth it and deleted it.
Bottom line, if you like VB, go for it, if you don't, don't. I won't.

Dude.................
That's ridiculous. It's a discretionary expense. No one HAS to buy the box.
Spend a night in Whatnot. Pele like these games. Ask @JoeyCoins, he's constantly playing the YouTube games.
By your "logic", you can't even know that anyone on this forum likes coins because you never took a survey.
It's one thing to hate the concept. (Don't play.) There is no need to continue to create ridiculous narratives.
Please sir, put down the gun, I'll buy the Vault Box!
There are multiple people on this forum that have bought boxes more than once and opened them. That's several people having fun. I saw 60 people in a room in WhatNot buying VaultBox breaks and having fun. One guy bought several singles at $445 each. Do you think he was having fun or just insane?
Never mind, I know what you're going to say.
Box breaks have existed for decades. Some people hate them but a lot of people have fun with them. There are whole YouTube channels and WhatNot streams dedicated to them. Obviously, that's because no one is having fun.
LMFAO

Depends on pricing. The thing with ancients is that there is no Whitman album and a lot of people haven't seen them before. In coin stores, people's jaws do when you show them a 2000 year old coin.
I've always said from the 1st VB that the concept would work best with exonumia, ancients or other things that aren't collected by date/mm. Having one or two ancients will feel like a trophy coin to a non- collector.

Probably true. But based on past pricing and their primary market(whatnot) I have a hard time believing it will have strong sales. Price guides and key dates help people determine whether or not they are a winner in a break. If you have to explain to them that they are a winner, may be difficult to create buzz or excitement. The core colors help make it easier. Red=good black=bad. But I’m still skeptical.

We have sold each Vault Box series and they always are popular.... in fact I only have 4 left of the Vault Box 5 to sell...
Thanks for the shameless plug. I don't think anyone here was actually looking to source Series 5 boxes, cheerleaders or detractors.
That said, yes, of course they have been popular. If not, there would be nothing for us to talk about.
OTOH, just how popular is anything that you still have 4 left to sell over a month after release? Was that the case with any of the previous series?
If not, maybe "always popular" is not an accurate description, and its popularity is starting to wane? FWIW, I don't remember you ever coming on here before announcing that you had VBs for sale. Maybe that's because you had no trouble selling them, but that is no longer the case?
Maybe we can get the cacs on the latest box vaults? That would be the ultimate for "coin" collectors everywhere. VOMIT!
Maybe we can get you to not randomly bring up how much you hate CAC regardless of the topic at hand? That would be the ultimate for "reasonable" board members everywhere. PUKE! RGDS! THKS!
Why do I keep looking at this thread? I don't know but for me it is Sunday bored on the couch with coffee. Idiots abound and really if they want to blow their money, let them have at it. I actually like it when people are pursuing popular crap at auction and spend all their money up, get tired and either go home or leave their internet & jump at coins left in the vacuum aftermath.
Anyway, I would hate to spend anyone else's money on one of the VB offerings....

tag teaming to defend (peoples right) to buy and promoting VB at the same time by defending it.
You know your tag teaming me hurts YN's, right?

I believe our "tag team" was in support of grammar and vocabulary. That can only help YNs.
I've got a lottery phone app. I think I'm going to buy a ticket.
When one can not justify /support their position they result to technicals like grammar and vocabulary.
I do not have a college degree. I went to the school of hard knocks and built two separate business all by myself.
It is the thought that matters and not grammar nor bad language.
Enjoy your discussion on grammar and I will stick to what I know is right and honest.

When my "investment" pays off, I may have to share the profits with the critics who tricked me into buying the ticket.
I don't know. I just read an article on CNN about how cursing means you're smarter than everyone else.
So did anyone hear who won the 1907 high relief Saint flat rim from VB5? Is there video of him/her opening the box?

Although I'm told no one can find it "fun".
