I'm surprised it hasn't happened already. Likely only because their ads are so pricey. The big corporations have been willing to pay almost anything. If it was shown only on Peacock, there would be considerably less viewers and they wouldn't be able to charge the same ad rates.
There has been a backlash. I saw where two car companies did pull out from the Super Bowl advertising because of the cost.
@Maywood said: @BillJones said: You call me a dinosaur for criticizing it. What advantage does the consumer get?
Well, the first Peacock only broadcast had a 4th quarter that was commercial free and this game will have the same thing. If that continues it will eventually mean commercial free games.
Let's be honest here, we all pay for the games in some fashion unless you truly are a dinosaur and have an antenna on your roof. In that case, you see one game a week, so let's dispense with all the posturing and pretense, Currently we are being "double dipped" because we pay for a cable/satellite service or some streaming package and then pay again via all the commercials, the advertising is added into prices a consumer pays.
Stop thinking this is some gimmick to get into your pocket, there's already a hand in there, you've gotten accustomed to it over the years and now, like all of us, you can't even feel it.
I have come to conclusion that you must be a big time Comcast Corporation stockbroker who plans on profiting from this privatization of playoff games. Otherwise I can’t understand your position. I don’t care about ads. I don’t have to listen to them.
And “let’s be honest here.” Your insults because of a difference of opinion are unnecessary. If you post one more, I will ignore you.

Yep. Pretty soon if you keep paying these guys for what is now on the regular “free channels,” you end paying for all games which generate any extra interest. And I guarantee you those pay for view games will have commercials with them. You will just be paying more money.
The way to keep this from happening is not to pay for these games. If the demand is not there, this arrogant demand for more money will disappear.

The NFL is concerned about players safety in Buffalo and moves the game to Monday. The Chiefs game could have been moved to 12 or 3 since Texas is playing indoors. Right now the sun is out in KC but since Peacock wants it when the moon is out safety goes out the window and let the temp go lower
🥶
So Amazon has Thursday night football and YouTube has the NFL package but put a game on Peacock ( right now $29.99 a year or $5.99 a month) and people lose their minds?
My last thought is Karen, get a life and complain about your HOA.

Yeah, just skip a few meals a day or buy the kids new shoes next month and you can watch football on tv.
The O/U opened at 51.5. Well the big boys moved in quickly on that line, plowing the under, and moving the line down to 43.5. Some websites have it at 38.5
The 43.5 looking fairly safe right now for the under. The 38.5 still in play.
Looking at the final score, it looks like it was a one sided affair and not very interesting. I suppose you could compare that opinion with Aesop’s fable, “The Fox and the Grapes.”
I was looking forward to the Buffalo game today, by it’s been moved from 1:00 PM today to 4:30 tomorrow. Supposedly the weather is too bad for fans to get to the game. Still I can’t see how having a game at 4:30 is better than at 1:00.

The dolphins are what we thought they were. They played a weak schedule, beat up on bad teams and played well as front runners. Tua is a rhythm QB with a weak arm and cannot carry a team.
They scored 21 points in 8 quarters and 1 for 19 on 3rd down in the last 6 quarters. The defense kept them in both games even as banged up as they were but can’t leave them out there all game. Time of possession was tilted badly.
Good news is they’ll play another weak schedule next year.

We got Peacock for $1.57 a month. I guess it’s $5 a month now. That’s less than a Starbucks. What I really laugh at is the gamblers on the score app whining about $5 a month yet betting and not knowing they’re a$$ from a hole in the ground. Betting hundreds but $5 is too much. Too funny. Pay the $5 and STFU

Give them an inch, and they will eventually take a mile.
It looks like NBC used this Peacock thing to boost subscriptions to their paid channel. I pay big bucks for cable and Internet now, over $200 a month. Unless you can tailor these pay for view channels perfectly, you’ll end up paying more for the same thing you got in the past. That’s the definition of inflation. Pay more for less or more for the same service.

We have Amazon( free shipping and 5-10% off products) pay for itself. HBO Max &14.99 a month and Peacock $20 a year. Plus Tubi which is free. Honestly for about $20 a month if you can’t find something, 1000’s of movies and shows to watch then I don’t know what to tell you.
We don’t subscribe to any $89 a month stuff or we might as well go back to Direct

Anyone else have Amazon and watching Reacher? I’ve read all the books and both seasons have been very good. Reacher, unlike 5’6” mini mouse in the movies is supposed to be 6’7” 280. Don’t normally get into series but it’s very close to the books.

Watch it every Friday when the new episode drops. Amazon also has Bosch and Bosch Legacy if you’ve read the Harry Bosch books from Michael Connolly - Titus Welliver plays Bosch.

What are the "free channels" you're talking about??
Hey, look if you want to pay extra to watch pro football at home, I’m sure that NBC will be more than happy to take your contributions to the corporate cause. I am sure that if you email them your credit card number that they will be very happy to make you wallet lighter.
For the rest of us, we’ll stick to grabbing food and drink, reading book or going to the bathroom when the commercials are on.

@BillJones, you must not have understood the question, as simple and straightforward as it was, but I think you did and are just being difficult. What are free channels you keep talking about?? Are you using rabbit ears or an antenna on top of your home?? That's the only way to get free TV that I know of unless you're doing something illegal. Everyone has some sort of "PAY" service that they're using, are you the exception?? If it's Cable, Satellite, Streaming or something else it ain't FREE.
Again, I think you know that and are being somewhat intentionally obtuse about it. Don't answer and keep presuming you speak for everyone.

Haha. At that point I dont even get what the point of charging is. Just let people in and hope to make some money on concessions

Is there any Vegas prop bet on whether or not Andy Reid survives the night there?
i like Andy, but he's certainly not in the best of physical shape.
There should be a hot air fan blowing on him at all times. 😆

A good set of rabbit ears gets everything. I've added a coat hanger for even better reception.
The only problem is it's expensive to replace the tubes in my TV when they burn out.
