Anyone who has the good fortune to own one knows what a special feeling it gives. I just acquired this one from the legendary Stewart Blay’s GC auction.

Holy Mackerel! That thing is a blazer!

1848 V-1 (Large Date) half dime. It's 1/0 at NGC, but there's also a 1/0 in the same grade at PCGS. Each has its plusses and minuses, but I'm pretty happy with mine.

The clashed dies adds personality to your 1848.

This silver Thomas Elder So-Called Dollar is still unique from my understanding, so a 0/1/0.

This was a pop one at NGC and I same-grade crossed it to PCGS where it's also a pop one. While I presume there are other Gilt examples still extant I haven't seen them.

Obverse 18 can be easily diagnosed by an extra 1 digit punch in the shield. The flag of a 1 digit is clearly visible between shield lines #8 and #9

I have some top pop, and some pop one, but I don’t have one with none finer…

My recent 1963 one penny from England is top pop, but I think there’s five or six of them in this grade… It’s close… But no cigar lol
I’ll post it anyway because I’m bored.

Rick Snow reports the coin below is the toughest in the entire IHC series. I saw a XF45 years ago that was not designated. This one’s the only MS example known @ 64RB.

At one point my type set had five POP 1 coins, via plus grades or attributions. Now it is down to three. The Buffalo is a 58+, the seated quarter is an RPD variety, the seated half is an MPD

Question: If there's a higher graded coin across the street, would ours truly be a 1/0?
Disclaimer: I'm not a dealer, trader, grader, investor or professional numismatist. I'm just a hobbyist. (To protect me but mostly you! 🤣 )
If the across the street coin has a CAC sticker then no yours is not 1/0 because the across the street coin is properly graded.
Otherwise just assume the across the street coin is overgraded and wouldn’t cross at the same grade so you win.
However I think for most intents and purposes this forum does not consider across the street and the question was meant as “Post a PCGS pop 1/0 you own”
Can of worms opened.
HOW DARE YOU OPEN A CAN OF WORMS FFL! BLASPHEMY!
There's a lot of truth in the above quote... personally I see 1/0 as at each service (NGC can have a 1/0 and PCGS can have a 1/0 at the same time for the same coin), but that's me.
This actually isn't discussed much, so I'd be interested to see the consensus on that.
Coin Photographer.
Your point is well taken. Not intended to open a can of worms. I'd just like to have a 1/0 that beats all other TPG'ers.

For Brown designation, this is pop 1 with none higher, no 65 browns at all at PCGS:
So I guess I do have one after all…

To be fair about it, this guy (however he is) has the one and only true 1/0 for this variety across ALL
TPG'ers.
