This is the first 1881 I bought. I have an XF40 as an upgrade but it's been cleaned and is so obvious, I'm surprised it straight graded. I really dislike the XF40 and couldn't part with this one. It has some light staining on the reverse which isn't ideal, but I'm a sucker for original coins and decided to keep this one and continue looking for an upgrade.

A very solid VG8. Nice coin!

I'm BACK!!! Used to be Billet7 on the old forum.
PCGS is going to say it’s a G04.
NGC would call this a VG8…. Which would be acceptable.
I am waffling between 6 and 8. So, it's a 7!
Wholesome look! Congrat's

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
It think it's a VG8. PCGS graded it G4
10.
That's a little conservative.
Missed this, I'd have said 8, nice piece!
Just got this upgrade.
Very nice upgrade Don, make sure you keep the CAC sticker!

This is a very scarce coin. Most of the late date Seated coins have low mintages and did not circulate.

I can't help but wonder if different dates are not treated differently. I have an 1862-S that is graded G-6 but has more detail than my 1873 AR that is graded VG-8. Your coin, compared to my 1873, would be a solid VG-10. I am no expert though. james
