Gorgeous coin, but the most surprising thing from the Pop Reports is that there are apparently four 1879 Trade Dollars in 68CAM? That's insane, especially considering that there are apparently only eight proof Trade Dollars in 68 or above across all dates.
Did you coordinate with JA any before upgrade on 68 cac?
No. He and I agree far more than we disagree. And as long as I personally grade the coin what it says on the holder, I’m a happy camper. I graded it exactly this from the first time I held it in my hand.

What does your 2nd 1880 look like that you mention in the description above? The one included in the set currently sticks out like a sore thumb, as it lacks the attractive blue toning that all the others have.

It’s the very next picture
Thanks for pointing that out. Sorry I missed it the first time. I think what confused me is that the description says the 2nd coin is only a 67 cac, but the grade listed directly under the trueviews for both coins are pr67+

Lost that old holder but 1 grade point up (not just a plus). Did you coordinate with JA any before upgrade on 68 cac?

Bruce,
The 1878 T$1 was my coin. I sold it through GC a couple of years ago. I thought it was a 68 too.
Glad you have it now!
Yah, I should just take the 67+ cam down….but that’s a full grade point lost. Darnit
It is drop dead gorgeous and near flawless. Love that coin.
