The main reason why I will probably never think that Ali was the GOAT is because of Frazier, Norton, and Spinks. All 3 had something in common - They beat Ali the first time they fought him.
IMO Frazier doesn’t look anymore fit then the guys I posted a picture of from the 50/60s above.

I’m not at all trying to put Ali down.
He obviously was a great champion.
So far I just don’t think he was as accomplished, or “as great” as Rocky’s accomplishments.
Of course they were both great. !!!

I know you guys aren't trying to put Ali down, everyone's entitled to their own opinion about the greatness of an athlete, I've enjoyed talking about boxing on the forum, don't get much a chance around here to talk boxing. And I do like and respect the heck out of Rocky Marciano, he was truly great, a tough as nails brutal fighter with power in both fists, Ezzard Charles actually hit him with an elbow and split his nose open and Marciano was smiling about it, tough as nails. We'll have to agree to disagree on this subject, but it has been fun!
About Joe Frazier, he is an all-time great, he was called "smokin" for a reason, as a fight went on, he would get stronger, catch fire and start smokin, he had one of the most brutal and devastating left hooks the sport has ever seen. He did beat Ali, but you also have to remember, Ali avenged that loss and beat him twice. Those were some of the most savage wars and took a lot out of both fighters. You also have to remember, Ali lost 3 years of his prime, from 1967-70, he didn't fight during that time at all. When he came back, there was definately ring rust, and Frazier was an all-time great, he was no bum. He could hit you with wicked body shots, and his left hook was maybe the best ever.
Joe Frazier is one of my all-time favorites, he was a ferocious fighter, a lot of people think he was capable of beating Marciano if they ever fought. Here's a video of him ripping shots to his opponents bodies, Frazier was no joke.

Great fighter. Just too bad he never got the opportunity to fight Bowe, who was equal to his size.
Did the full story ever come out as to why? Money, I’m sure was a factor, but yes, we missed out as fans on what probably would have been a great fight if it occurred at the right time.

I love boxing and it’s history.
Of all the fighters mentioned, and several incredible fighters, I think you’re missing the best one.
Lennox Lewis was a beast and should get a mention. Took on any and all comers of the era and beat everyone. 44-2-1 record, 32 by knockout.
Massive man, massive reach, massive meat hooks for hands. Technically sound and able to mix it up with lesser styles and slug it out too.
A class fighter all the way.
