Purchased 1828 R5 O123a to find out that it had been sold after purchasing to someone else on forum
I know it is a good error of service
But why did it happen and will I ever be made right

USAF (Ret) 1974 - 1994 - The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings; the inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries. Remembering RickO, a brother in arms.
As major dealers have said on this site, there is usually another similar, maybe a better coin/better deal that will present itself to you in the future.
Should we expect any additional information to be slowly dragged out of you over the next several days?

please let's share , it's gonna be a long nite
Another cryptic thread short on details and context, no doubt with lots of contradictory statements to follow.
I know parts of this story and it doesnt add up. I would like to hear the other party’s side… I will tag this person if they don’t come out of the shadows 👀

This should be interesting…..
To the OP, as a helpful reminder, the members of this forum generally need details and such to try to help, otherwise it will often turn against the poster when more details are presented (remember the eBay thread for example).
Just trying to help, as already this seems to look a little suspect.
So how long did you wait to pay?
Oh look, the next clue!
That's a nice Morgan on your website, OP. You have a good eye for coins.

I'd better hold my tongue. I have no proof of anything, but be extra careful dealing with the OP...I'll leave it at that.

IT would seem something is amiss.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
So he didn't actually purchase it. He expressed an interest and then didn't complete the deal.
To the OP, there is no sale to money changes hands. Again, this could be a learning experience for you. But, like your ebay thread, it looks to be headed for another pity party.
the PM/email exchanges must be something to read

Throw a coin enough times, and suppose one day it lands on its edge.
Item was purchased agreed and paid for. It was a paypal echeck
Edit: after echeck cleared, the item was no longer for sale after money was issued to sellers account. Money returned. Waited two weeks for 0..

Have you considered including all relevant information in your initial posts, here, rather than dishing out small servings, little by little over a long period of time?

Your reputation precedes you thanks to your eBay thread.
I clicked on the thread expecting some good entertainment. Thoroughly disappointed…
Classic clickbait.

Nothing is as expensive as free money.
The guy that he tried to buy it from has commented in this thread and could shed some light on this. Just sayin 🤷🏼♂️

So how many paper cuts left before we all die (laughing) from your dribble glass postings?
At least we all know what does the fox say. You? Hell if we know.
Don't think I'd want to buy from or sell to you now.

I'm clueless. Why did this guy start a thread about himself and a failed transaction. That makes two problems I associate him with.
I wonder if that's all?
Hmmmmmm....
🙄
Threads here are supposed to be about coins-not cry-babying. So you missed a deal-SO What? I'm sure it will happen again as it has to everyone here at some time or another.

dont anyone lose sleep on this one and no, we dont get lost time back
If you have a problem during a deal with a member here, you should address it privately with them first. If you cannot resolve it, feel that the other party has violated industry ethics and you decide to go public, you need to tell the whole story and describe exactly what happened.
Otherwise, readers cannot take you seriously and you are damaging your reputation.
All you have in this hobby is your reputation. Protect it and act honorably.

If this is true, then you might actually have a legitimate complaint. We await the rest of the story...
"and will I ever be made right"
"Money returned."
Sounds like they made it right, you got your money back.
Ugh. OP, enough of this ridiculousness. Give all the pertinent details right off the bat. It’s like you are basking in all the attention, so you are purposefully dribbling out details every 20 posts or so. You’ve done this before.
If attention is not the goal, what is the intent of posting this? What do you want?

Very simply: I purchased off the bst the 1828 r5 gave the seller my commitment to buy it and paid him.
I issued a friends and family through paypal payment which took two weeks to clear
I waited for the payment to clear first before the item shipped and upon the day of it clearing, seller tells me his assistant misplaced the item and it had been sold to someone else as I had already paid for the item and gave my commitment first.
"You're gonna need a bigger thread."
I can show copies of the PM
Where an agreement was made, seller accepted the funds, and later gave me some reason that the item magically got sent to someone else on the day of the payment fully going into his account. Seller did refund the money, but the fact it was sold as a mistake to someone else does not sit well
How can I trust people if they send me my money back after making a firm purchasing commitment by paying them?
I won't speak to the rest of the issue but this part I definitely don't believe.
Chopmarked Trade Dollar Registry Set --- US & World Gold Showcase --- World Chopmark Showcase
The item was offered for $300 I made offer $200 it was accepted. Is that the problem? Would you like to see the PM and decide for yourself
Because they sent your money back.
You got yourself kicked off ebay for not fulfilling your obligations. I wonder if that sat well with your buyers. 🤔
I did fulfill them
I fulfilled every single obligation
But what does this have to with me not getting what I paid for.
I’d probably trust them a lot more than if they didn’t send the money back 🤷🏼
If everything you’ve said is exactly as things happened with no missing details, at this point you’ve described a seller who at worst made a mistake and then did make you whole in the best possible way at that point.
